We should have a Sticky thread on this topic because it always comes up.

I only charge for a mind buff if I'm really busy and nowhere near a cantina. You want me to go out of my way to buff you, then you sure as hell are going to pay for it. This is very rare.

I don't even say "a tip is fine" anymore. They ask if I'll buff, I say "Of course". At some point they ask me how much I charge and I tell 'em that I don't charge. So we chat and I end up with an extra 5k - 30k in my bank account.

Don't charge a group you plan to hunt with, and never charge a guild member.
