Oh I'll probably see you there. I am truly a geek - and an annoying child actress...

I've got some (probably foolish) hopes for Star Trek Online. They specifically say they are keeping an eye on the current MMORPGs out there and mention SWG's repetitive grinding such as what NOT to do. But lots of companies SAY that and then create a grindy EQ-clone. So we will see.
I just was really struck by how everything those of us who were fans and supporters of the launch version of the game were saying "it's not" (and glad of it!), it now *is*.

We have talked about STO in gc and on our website. I'm not sure how I feel about it now, was anti it at first. But with SWG feeling less and less immersive, perhaps STO will be better.
I have been using ventrillo recently and it's a nice way to keep in touch with friends playing in other games, but it kills RP dead. Somehow hearing the voices concerned brings VR and RL one step too close for me. Also hearing the male voices behind some female toons, makes it harder to interact with them in the same way IG.
I too have no idea where, or if, I will find another online home for my chars. Been playing a bit of WoW, MxO and EQ2 but none of them have the same feel to them as SWG still has (just). I suspect I shall still be in SWG getting lonelier and sadder as players drain away to pastures new.
Dark and Light looks like being my only hope at the moment.
