Well the removal of spam hasn't reached my server yet. AFKer's that spammed before still spam now. In fact I think they might spam the "we need tips" and "watch me I desperately need xp" crap even more so now than before. Also, the Shadowfire combatants haven't recovered enough from the changes to remember to tip entertainers or healers on our server. They are good company when they come into the cantina (well except for the dorks who insist on dueling in the cantinas and creating so much lag with the new special visual effects that they cause some of the entertainers to crash to desktop) but they are tipping less now than they did before the CU. I'll just hope that the changes you guys have reported on your servers reaches Shadowfire soon. Most of the entertainers I tend to group with will get killed if they try to take missions at the mission terminals so that means we're pulling in roughly 850 credits per hour from the mission terminals. In 6 hours of dancing the other day I made a grand total of 10K in tips. Splitting that with the others in the group comes to a whopping 238 credits per hour. Clearly when I have bills to pay, like maintenance on the cantina, I won't be spending the time dancing. New entertainers are going to have a very rough time of it on smaller servers. And I doubt many of them will choose a complete entertainer template. I can only hope the profession revamp comes sooner rather than later.

actually, I have a friend on Scylla who says her business hasnt changed.

She is always atk when she plays, and from what she says is almost a fixture (when she doesnt hunt) at the cnet cantina.

apparently, her tips havent decreased at all, in fact she's still pulling in about 200k a day. As you say, being there and able to talk... is what people want

almost makes me think about dropping combat lol.

her one issue, she always gets stuck with lead...any tips I can give her to stop that? It would appear that since the other entertainers know she is always on, they kamikaze leader her... she doesnt read the forums though, too much drama.. (she gets enough of that from her kid) so any tips you can pass along to me or her ig (name of Ka'th) would likely be appreciated

Now that the limit to a group is currently 8 and there really isn't a whole heck of a lot of difference in xp, I'd suggest that she only group with atk players. If there aren't any. She can dance by herself, that's what I plan to do. I won't be babysitting a bunch of afk'ers anymore.

Well the changes haven't all sunk in on Corbantis either. Last night there were still 10 AFK spamming zombies in Theed. Imaji was finishing the 30 listener quest for musician and trying to finish her last music box so we took up the front room to get her listeners (she doesn't like to ask so I insisted on a conspicous spot ). We were there probably an hour and got one tip of 3k each. Tonight there were 2 afk spammers so its slowly dwindling. MO has 2 bots that do say grouping isn't necessary for inspiration buffs so they are in step with the changes. Hopefully Corbantis will finally return to ATK only but as long as FS grinding exists I doubt it.

I think doctors are considered a "combat" character and all of their skill points count towards their level.

Entertainers, on the other hand, are gimped in combat because of what you said. It's something I vehemently disagree with and it really annoys me.

Yno
I don't understand exactly how the combat level system works.
It is true that docs get a few points on their combat level, armor cert and so on. But I've recognized before that certain boxes don't count anymore towards combat level if you already have a higher counting skill. (First realized that while grinding up brawler on TC-Ep3: My cl rised for every skill box in the one-handed branch, but it didn't for unarmed 1 - 3 once I had the one-handed branch)
I haven't tried it out myself, but I am very sure that a master doc can never be higher in level than 59, exactly as a master dancer, as docs on TC-Ep3 told me, simply because their own cl boxes don't count anymore at a certain point.

I have tried Master Pistoleer and Master Doc Seperatly, both times I was Combat level 54. The Doc however doesn't have any attacking bonuses.

I have two main accounts, plus my friends accounts that I have access too. Mabey Im just bad grinding entertainer/dancer/musician, but I cant realy help but to do it atk and to chat like crazy. Its also why I level my jedi so slowly, I chat in group all day. My "2nd" account was master dancer (mastered 4 times), master musician (mastered twice), master entertainer (twice), novice ID, 1000 carbineer. But....

She is a living breathing character! I love being a dancer/entertainer (musician, eh *shrug*, so-so)! The only reason Im still here is becouse of all the time and love I've put into my toons, I have equally as much fun playing my damsel in distress dancer as I do, if not more so (dont have to worry about BH's, gank-squads ect) than my jedi. "IF" I stay, it will be with both accounts. Jedi I may be, but Im a dancer (and WS ) at heart. Both are not happy with SOE right now, but hey, thats just me.

A funny thing that must bug both Entertainers but docs even more:
A master in one of our professions needs erm... (counts fingers, calculates, thinks...) many skill points. We need at least two branches in our base profession at least. (While crafters usually need only one. That is if they neither have survey nor business...)
Anyway, the highest possible combat level a master doc, master musician or master dancer can have is 59. Stim Ds however need combat level 60, so we are all limited to stim cs (needs level 30, heals 250 health / minutes for none medics... which isn't actually worth mentioning). I can more or less live with it as dancer, but that would seriously bug me if I was doc.
