Yeah right, was the persuation tree. Think i did survival then instead.

Think Persuation just gives you a chance to evade scans by imperial crackdown troops (and most likely imperial troops as well soon)

But I would have to drop quite a bit to take that quest, I was not willing to do that.

And I really see NO FREAKING POINT why persuation is limited to Medics? Yeah sure the quest is designed that you can't pass without it, but why?

Its the same as making Melee Speed quest require Master Rifleman

But I think we're drifting away from the topic of the Dancer forum

This is something that concerns me greatly, especially in light of our upcoming revamp. I'm concerned that they actually see us as the "girlfriend group" that happily chats awaywith each otherwhile doing /setp on the combatters as they come in and politely ask for a buff.

Precisely. There are plenty of men (not just musicians but dancers, too) amongst our group, but even if there weren't - I'm not a one dimensional cardboard cutout from some hotrod calendar! I have varying likes and dislikes, I have a brain (and on occasion use it) and I have a bank account. Pretty soon, to keep said bank account happy, I'm likely to have to decide between Galaxies and "the game that shall not be mentioned". What will SWG do to help me make up my mind?

SOE and the devs need to get smart about this "social" group. We aregreater than the total sum of their assumptions.

But, then - I digress from the topic . . . yet again . . .

I have 3 accounts on SWG. 2 combat profs and 1 non-combat prof. The first two combat prof's simply got too boring for me... grind, grind, grind away. I needed a break. I tried CoH and EQ2 but I have too many RL friends in SWG to just turn away right now. Those friendships keep the game 'fun', more or less, even when the grind seems blah and boring.

2 weeks ago I picked up my 3rd account and decided to go totally non-combat with him. I chose Entertainer, Dancer, and Musician as my new career path. After going through the ordeal of becoming 'glowy' and grinding out the 6-7 Million in FS XP through mindless MOB genocide, I really needed a break. Dancer has been just that for me... a completely new challenge and change of pace.

3 things I have noticed about Dancer thus far (and I think EVERYONE else here agrees and has probably already posted them).

1) Lack of respect that Entertainers get.

2) Entertainer groups where you are the ONLY live Dancer/Musician and everyone else in the group is AFK.

3) The lack of any TRUE benefits from grinding out your FS skill enhancements.

I really would like to see a new FS Quest system. Something that really benefits the Entertainer... either by item given during the unlock quest or through advantages provided block x block when you go up the tree. New music, new instruments, new effects, new dances, some item that might buff your Action (like the mind crystal given in other quests), or at least some serious content. Heck, at least a never-before seen clothing item would be nice!

Sorry for the rant.

Though Persuasion would seem kinda cool for an Entertainer, appearing as a Rebel or Imperial to whoever walked in, knowing things about your customers ahead of time... how does that one work anyway?

Persuasion lowers your cost of training when you train through a npc.

Kyrie
I came into the SWG universe as an entertainer
and performed to a crowded cantina in Mos Espa.
I will use a respec and become an entertainer again,
pull out my last pet from my creature handler days
and dance in an empty cantina in Mos Espa and disconnect from the game forever.

Not to mention that you need Master MEDIC to even take and complete the quest required for the DANCER mods (yes, yes, I know, they also have some Medic Mods, but still, see my point?)

Well, actually you just need novice medic. But, you'll have to buy stims from those who can make them. Either way though, there is no entertainer quest in the village.

The problem of not having any FS skills relevant to non-combat professions is a widespread problem. Nothing for Creature Handlers; nothing for Smugglers; precious little for Scout/Rangers; etc. And unfortunately, several of the Senses professions require Doc, Medic, or (for Luck) Artisan skills.

With the removal of the need for app points to get Master, this would be VERY useful as thereis now no longer any incentive to train people other than good will (and you can't always depend on good will).

Yes, it's very annoying that ALL of the senses branches REQUIRE either Medic/Doctor or Artisan. There is little for BE either (unless the BE takes Master Medic and BEs have skill point issues as it is). I know that my BE on Eclipse was very frustrated that the Phase 1 quest couldn't be done with just Medic 0/0/0/4 as she doesn't have the skill points to spare for Master Medic (let alone Doctor). I had to do some creative dropping and recovery of skills to finish the Senses quests (and she did all of them)... picked up then dropped Novice Artisan for the 2 that require that, dropped several skills I want to keep to get Master Medic for the Phase 1 Quest, of them all, only the Phase 4 quests did not require changing her template... and I am still peeved that I will have to actually make her a jedi (and NOT be able to drop it afterwards) in order to unlock my second character slot. At least the Reflexes Quests don't require ANY particular skills (even my Pure non-combat character was able to do the Phase 2 Reflexes Quest).
