Dunno, Pappi . . . I guess we are just a bit too late . . .

I wrote a very sarcastic piece entitled "Why I love AFK entertainers and buffbots". It was supposed to beaimed at all powergamers who cried about entertainer services and got our healing and buff times slashed. There were some comments in it that could have been taken as a bash towards live entertainers, but that was not my intent. It was quite lengthy and was really dripping with sarcasm. I should have written somewhere in the begining or end about it being satirical. For the life of me, I can't remember everything I wrote in it if I was asked to write it again, lol. Anyway, I do apologize to those that may have read it and got the wrong impression about me, hence this post. Believe me, I have more more respect for live entertainers than I do for any other profession. Besides, I'm getting married (in-game) to a very lovely and sweet entertainer on March 17th. I'm so nervous and excited about it that I can hardly type when I talk to her, lol.

You can call me DT, I kinda like that one

"Pretty positive changes" could mean anything to these people. I can just see them taking the statement "not everyone can round up a band" and making it so ANYone can round up a band. They might give us a performance group of NPC's usable by Entertainers and endowed with our healing powers--also everyone can use the NPC's, not just Entertainers.

I know SOETyrant is probably our best hope at any sort of worthwhile role in Galaxies and any new content, but he seems to have the same doubletalktroubles as every other Dev I've encountered.

I've had to constantly re-evaluate the reasons I'm in Galaxies since last spring. When Tyrant came about I decided to hang on longer--he seemed like a new voice with a new plan.He said that change was coming and the social playstyle would receive some updates to make it viable again. Well, I haven't seen much in the way of updates, other than the ones that improve the powergamers' lifestyle and the bots' undeadstyle.

Yeah, I'm still hanging in here for the ride, but I honestly don't see it going anywhere I really want to go.

Well, I can't say I'm really bothered about the possibility of anyone at SOE breaking out in tears because they feel oh so horribly misunderstood by those harsh and cruel musicians. The history of communication between SOE and our professions since this game started speaks for itself, so don't expect any great compassion for them from me

I will judge them by deeds, not by announcements, so I won't even bother to comment on those "pretty positive changes" until Iknow what they are. If I would be willing to comment however, my reply would be pretty much the same:

Well, I know he is putting in great effort to really try to take input from Deila and the other Ent Corrs... Tyrant himself recently stressed that to me. I also know that poor Deila has been putting in late hours trying to help make sure everything is well understood from the unique Social Perspective so that when our revamp does come, it will be as close to what we want as possible.

A lot of people seem to be putting great effort into understanding and giving us what we want right now. If the big guy says news is coming, I'm pretty sure we can take that as a good sign that something is coming down the pipes for us. Will it be all that we've wanted? Will it be a real Entertainer based full fledged Game Option equal to Combat and Crafting? No clue.

I feel better knowing that something is happening though and I am really glad we have Deila to be our voice, she has such a gift for making people understand foreign concepts. So, no, I don't know that everything is going to be *bam* fixed for us with these updates Tyrant is hinting at... but I do feel like they could be the start of really seeing the full Gameplay Option we've always hoped Ent would be.

Well, there are two years of hoping behind it, maybe something will finally happen.

So they went from "not everyone can round up a band" to here let us provide something that takes no player interaction/dependency, provides 18 more music options than an entertainer, and provides well orchastrated game music that sounds many times better than what a musician can provide. Now what he can say is "no one wants to round up a band".

In my opinion he is talking out of both sides of his mouth on this one. They didn't even consider the impact on musicians this box will have before designing and delivering it. That tells me the real attitude of the devs towards us.
