Ok for the record. The entertainer proffession are not as bad as some of the other proffessions. Specifically Smuggler.

We will have our turn. Just be patient.

The one thing that I liked was the ability for player city cantinas to let musicians be heard by people coming into the cantina without having to actually target them and listen. It would not affect the npc cantinas.

If they do that player cantina's will rule! I wonder if it will also affect player houses should they implement it! The party options then would be ammasing!

Unfortunately, the devs stated that they want to keep people coming into the NPC cities so don't expect too many things to happen in player cities.

ArthurDent covered several professions on the BE forum, although not entertainer, but the comments on the crafting professions and player cities was very telling.

It’s so kind of you all who were/are there to share the info with rest of us. Thank you so much.

I guess I am little disappointed but not really surprised by the answers given.

After reading some other treats on other profession forums it all seems like the usual lip-service answers

....... We are aware of the issue, we are working on it, we want to add this and that but don’t have the time, it is working as intended, give us time, keep paying and waiting ….

Two things actually are surprising to me:

The Devs claiming the subscription count and played hours being high.

And no Smuggler’s Rewarp. (don’t remember which profession forum was that posted at)

Since I was in the Smuggler's forum, I can answer that.

Yes, there is not a PUBLISH dedicated to Smugglers only. However, they do have a lot of things coming in the next couple of publishes, along with other professions. They are not going to mark one publish strictly for one profession. Every publish will have something to offer a variety of professions.

The smugglers are getting a "mini-game" for slicing. They've also got some quests and other content coming soon.

But...this forum isn't smugglers so I'll stop. I'll reply to the original poster about my thoughts of the entertainer forums.

These are mostly dancer specific items. I went to *both* entertainer panels, so these are my impressions from both days.

1. If you are dancing in a group, a dance leader should be able to /changed for all the dancers. The musicians can do it, changing all members to the same song. Dancers want to do it for all dancers. They confirmed this is doable and shouldn't be hard to implement.

2. STOPPING flourishes when you stop dancing. Musicians can stop playing as soon as they move, but we're just kinda stuck until the flourishes finish out. They will fix this. Also not a hard fix.

3. Fixing flourishes is on the list of things to do, too. It takes a LONG time to do anything dance related because of the huge sink into the art.

4. They're looking at a LOT of content for non-combatants. This is a good thing and many of us were excited. Suggestions were being hired by Jabba and such or having safe passage at least *to* jabbas. And yes, we asked about the The Barge. It probably won't happen, unless it is an item that people can buy. They don't want a big ass reward like that to be available for only one profession. I talked to an artist who works on ships and he told me how difficult this would be.

5. Droids not grouping in space. Will be fixed. Same with droids on Kashyyyk.

6. Making the *other* cantinas on Kashyyyk usable. They didn't know if it could happen, but they'll look into it. It's more of a technical issue, since Kashyyyk is programmed so differently.

7. They were interested in props and possibly rewards for quests that have cool props and clothing. A reward system. Accessories and such.

8. They're looking at making /deny service stick after server reset. The devs at that panel, weren't aware that it didn't.

9. The big one...afk play. In reality, many entertainrs do not want them to go away, except for all the afk play. Many of us like to use them, so we can RP and talk to people while we're doing our thing. What they want to do is make it so people *want* to be there. Suggestions are "bouncers" which basically check with an AFKer to prod someone. Someone would say "hey are you there?" and if not, the person would get booted after a certain response time. Lots of suggestions from the players. Now that we know WHY they can't really disable macro'ing like they want (it affects so many things besides us, too), we were able to come up with other ideas.

10. Those damn stormies in Theed. They're going to slow down the rate of them in the cantina *and* the amount of text they're speaking. Easy fix.

Mostly...content. Lots of content. I talked to Sheri, the in-game content manager and she has some GREAT things coming up for the non-combat professions. I can't say exactly what she told me, but I literally jumped up and down while squealing.

This is a rambling of what I remember off the top of my head. Feel free to ask questions and I'll try to answer, if I've been unclear.

The Saturday panel said that their not gonna make /denyservice permanant. Cause it would cause privatization of services.

No, they didn't say it wouldn't happen. There is a lot of things to consider to make it happen. But they did say /deny service should take after reset.

This is taken from a run down by Kettemoor's Quantix(forum name AntiXryst). He had asked before Fan Fest if anyone on the boards had any specific questions they wanted asked and I told him I'd like to know what was in store for entertainers and he delivered.

Entertainer Professions
- Scars and such are a big want on both sides. However another layer would be added to all toons for that and it would be simply a lag issue. They didn’t say no, but they said it was something that needed to be fun and not a lag machine.
- Accessories such as earrings and Wookiee braids however are not on the same level of scars and the devs really want to give each race things that can help distinguish our characters further.
- AFK Entertaining is being looked at heavily. It’s a touchy subject and the Devs do not want it to continue. Handling afk is difficult and they are really trying to make steps to make it go away. One dev put it, “Well if we make entertainer more entertaining, players won’t want to go afk.” I think several women threw their panties at him for it. Very well received.
- Entertainer content coming. A possible “notoriety” system where entertainers can go through ranks and distinguish themselves as a favorite of Jabba or of the Imperial Troops or of the people. Each giving unique rewards (special tattoos, jewelry, outfits, dances, songs, etc were discussed as perks)
