I am going to get totaly flamed for saying this but...

The majority of the players in the game are combat classes.

After spending 9 minutes waiting on a shuttle

Then another 15 minutes in the med center asking the medics to heal

And then another 10 to 45 minutes in line for a buff.

...

The last thing we want is to ask every dancer in the cantina (most on my server don't advertise they are buffing) just to get a "No" or "after I am done with these 30 people"

Most combat professions openly welcome something that will buff them in 4 minutes.

Yes ... 4 minutes - 99% of the buff bots run the "entertainer macro of doom" that buffs the group members in under 4 minutes.

I feel your pain - I really do.

I am a master doc, and my girlfriend (yes my real life girlfriend plays this game) is a master dancer.

Both our ingame wallets have taken a hit from buff bots.

But chances are SOE will not do anything about it...

WHY?

Simple - they have no way of knowing if the person is really there and using a macro to save their mouse and keyboard some wear and tear.

I dont blame you dear... Just sad to see another Entertainer so beaten down that they give up and quit. But I've come so close to it myself so Many times... But for now.. I'll perservere... i dont Really have any hope that things will improve but then I do other things most of the time anyway... So even though dance is pretty much a hiobby for me these days rather than a profession..I still miss it a lot. Im one of the old-timers and remember what it was like in the early days when it WAS a viable Profession.

So best of luck to you dear... Maybe.... one day.....

Are you drunk? Seriously!

a. Drygo was not a "holocroner." Drygo was a true, dedicated entertainer who will be sorely missed.

b. You accuse a correspondent of padding her post count? Why would she bother?

You are a troll. GO AWAY.

Blamj, please. Please, let us have at least one thread to say goodbye to the dwindling assets of our profession without your hatred. This is not a place for flames and this is all I'm going to say here. Start a new thread if you have something constructive to say.

Drygo, while we've never met in game, I know I'll still miss you. Every live person out there that leaves over this hurts more than I can say. Knowing that you were another of us out there is one of the things that keeps me (and I'm thinking other people too) going at this.

But you're right. If it's not fun, it's time to move on. Good luck finding fun again, you deserve it.

I can't believe I had to log on to read about this.

Drygo... what can I say. We've been through two games now together, and I have little doubt we'll meet up in another one somewhere. You are, and always have been, my best online friend. I trust and respect you more than I could ever say, and you can always make me laugh, no matter what. We've been through some crazy times together. You'll still always be Kith to me.

I love you, babe. Finding out you played this game was a high point. Finding out you're leaving clinches my decision to quit as well. You better get on AIM more often so we can keep talking. I won't tolerate you being out of my life completely.

We'll all miss you. That goes without saying.

I'm pretty new here so I haven't gotten the chance to know you, Drygo. Good luck and hopefully eventually you might be able to return here. You'll be missed.

You guys have had so many kind words to say. Thank you. But, don't mourn too much, this is a happy occasion. I actually kind of feel like a burden has been lifted, hehe. It's bizarre that sometimes people leave games and then they suddenly discover several months (or years even) that someone they used to play with is now playing the current game...which is what happened with Fuschia and I. I'll miss a whole lot of you, and it's entirely possible that we will meet again some day. Those of us attracted to certain types of games and classes or professions tend to find each other again in another setting. I still find it entirely bizarre that both Fuschia and I picked the same exact game, race and profession when we left TSO.Too bad we didn't get the server right

As for blam...heh, I long ago gave up trying to make any sense whatsoever. It's very obvious I'm not a holocroner and beyond that I don't even know what he's talking about. Besides, like I said, I feel more free now, doesn't bother me There are bigger fish to fry. Which reminds me. I have till August 11th. If anyone knows of anybotty (sic on purpose), that needs a stern "talking to," send me a PM. (insert halo smiley here)

Last but not least, Fuschia, don't leave on my account. But, should you actually decide to leave, let me know...maybe we can find someplace fun to go to, together. That goes for everyone. As I said in my original post on this thread, I'm looking for suggestions of something new to tryout.

So, ya'll are gonna have to put up with me trolling these forums until August 11th. hehehehe

Edit for one more thing: So I filled out the exit survey when I cancelled. I was a bit disappointed. It really only consisted of 4 multiple choice questions, none of the answers related to my actual reasons for leaving. Nothing that had to do with entertainers. And, there was no space for additional comments. It was a waste. And, when I picked "game unbalanced" as my reason for leaving it was the only choice even remotely close to my real reason. (I'm thinking game unbalance for entertainers I guess, but I know they're going to think I'm talking about combat.) So...yeah, I think I'm going to have to "submit feedback" somewhere and tell people the real reason. I just don't feel right about not being able to give my final peace on the real reason that I'm leaving. I mean, if people leave and their entertainers and they left due to entertainer issues, and overall afk damage, how are the devs or marketing or whoever ever going to know with a crap ass survey like this?

/sigh

Wow.

Blamj once again proves how incredibly ignorant he is about everything in one sentence. Amazing.

Drygo, what can I say. Real entertainers are few and far between, it's always a loss when one of them decides to quit. And you are one of the finest.

Be well and see you soon

Drygo no....

I was pulled back into the game, even though I was certain I was completely through with it. I see the fight in your eyes, and I want to keep pushing it. Yet...we're losing our soldiers on a daily basis. Have we been so thoroughly defeated?

It's starting to appear that we have.

We'll miss you, Drygo. Good luck in all that you do.

Drygo,

I'm very sad to see you go, although I understand your reasons all too well, and support your decision. We all have a point at which we decide to cut our losses; a point where the bad sufficiently outweighs the good, and we must do what's in our own best interests.

I'll miss your insight and spark to fight alongside the rest of us here in saving the social playstyle. Your thoughts, arguments, points and discussionshave always beenamong those that I valued. Dancers are losing one of our Generals.

Kind of funny someone said they wanted a "goodbye" post without me "posting my hatred"....

If you had actually READ my post without AUTOMATICALLY PRESUMING that my post was spitful you would have NOTICED...

I AGREED WITH THE ORGINAL POSTER

So - goodbye - sorry the game was ruined for

And sorry I ruined your "good bye" post by agreeing with what you said.

Well good luck to you Drygo. Sorry to see another fellow entertainer forced out of the game. I even made a character on Kettemoor to try to meet you (and a few others) in game on your home server sometime, but I haven't had time to really play it yet. I know exactly why you're leaving though. If it weren't for some of the friendships I've made in the game, I might be wanting to throw in the towel too, but for now they help to keep the game fun despite the problems. I do hope the devs realize the problems that AFK'ing has done to our profession most of all, but also to others as well, and that they do something about it soon.

I take some renewed courage from TH's recent statements about reforming the development and design teams and getting back to basics after the release of JTL because it sounds like they do realize they need to go back to reevaluate and repair the fundamental game. I also realize, however, that even if they do everything perfectly it will still take time - likely several months, but then again, hopefully the problems of our profession would be high enough on the list that we might see some relief sooner rather than later. Time will tell, and I, for one, will be judging them carefully over the next few months to see how well they keep their promises. If I think that they are delivering more delays and excuses than improvements, then it may be time for me to say my goodbyes. There are times when I'm awed by the beauty of this game and the attention to detail; then there are other times when I'm awed by the flaws, failures and shortsightedness. I still think there is great potential for this game, but only if they go back and clean up the messes that have been created in the obvious rush to get this game released and develop a more balanced plan for future content and improvements as well as a definitive policy on AFK macroing (i.e. BAN it!). I think we entertainers are kind of the like the canary in the mines - and right now that canary is unconscious on the floor of the cage. If they can revive our profession, I hope that Drygo and others will consider coming back to take a look at what has been done. If not, then I guess I'll have another $15 a month to spend. Either way, Drygo, I hope you find something you have fun with. That's what it's all about anyway.
