Ooh...a group like from The Full Monty.
I think it'd be great to have a group like that that starts out all dressed up (whether something fancy or not) and ends up in hawtpants at the end.

I play a female Master Dancer but I wanted to try a male, so I started a male Twi'lek dancer on Shadowfire. The biggest thing I noticed about the male dancer off the hop wasn't insults, but lack of tips, even if I had interactive conversations with people.
So just to be sure, I started two more female dancers on other servers (only 1 account here ) and sure enough by the end of the first night both had gotten several K (1000's)worth of credits where my poor twi'lek guy hadn't gotten any.
Thankfully though SWG has a great system though for professions so I put up my dukes, picked up some Teras Kasi moves and did some missions to buy some nicer dancingclothes for my guy.
I know others mock the entertainer missions, but I would run out of the cantina in theed to grab some for the cantina I was at, run back and fulfill them too for some spare cash while I was working on my dancing. Actually cash may be the wrong word, by the time the reward was split among the groupI gotbetween 5-20 credits per mission, but I figured it was a bonus tip for everybodyand something to do
I play my guy as casual butconversationally-engagingto customers and extremely polite to the other entertainers. Hopefully when I get my TKA up higher I can also act as a protector if any of the other entertainers need it.
Instead of /smile at people when they came in, which I did with my girls, I /nod at people with the guy. I felt that was still acknowledging but more comfortable to both genders.
I definately talk about combat/armour or missions with patrons. If they have alot of battle fatigue/wounds, I'll make a comment like "Whoa. What starship did you fall out of?" which usually leads to an interesting story. If they are non-descript, I'll ask something like "Hows the hunting going out there tonight?" as an opener.
I dance in either black or white pants with matching sandals and necklaces, if I can afford a long black skirt, I might actually see how that looks, too.... but maybe I'll wait until my TKA is higher

I completely agree about the tips. I've never had much problem with insults, or I've just grown accustomed to ignoring them, but I do notice a lack of tips. I notice this as a Doctor too though, so maybe people are just cheap. ;-)

No, I assure you, it has to do more with the attractiveness of the player than anything else.
I'm (allegedly) a decent-looking Twi'lek. I tried a male dancer with standard human features on another server for a few days and didn't make as much as Til did. Actually, I made nothing, no matter how much I spoke
Til's tips border on non-existant as well, but they still drop their creds at my feet every once in a while.
Eira (my large-chested human female on Ahazi) made 100's of thousands and received several free gifts with practically no effort on my part in my first weeks there. Buffing would net me 200-300K in a night if I advertised actively in a high-traffic location. The difference is astounding

Its all about 70 Disco style I got about 10 outfits I toss on and make sure I greet everyone as the enter.
When the old gay basher comes in I just laugh at them at start the emotes up at the the old wink, blow kiss you name it or i say the old favorite line "hey I dont knowwhy you keep asking my out I like girls buddy" . That normally works them into a fury and the try to /duel and then I say this " Ok because I dont like you you want to beat up a little innocent dancer"
After that they leave 99% of the time

^--- Always a simple solution. They either get seriously afraid/indignantafter your approach and get laughed at by the crowd, or they realize you're overdoing it and laugh it off themselves.
Sometimes you can be blessed with kisses from the surrounding ladies if they're readyto defend your masculinity. <--- Personallly, this is myfavorite method of discounting their claims.

That's usually what I do whenever it happens. Not only does it show our support of our male dancers, I think it gives them a little of a morale boost too. ![]()
