This may be more of a Space Expansion thing, but something I think would add to the realism of the game. I have been in this game for nearly a year now, and have yet to see weather beyond the occasional rain or sand storm. I think a season cycle should be put into place for each planet, or at least there should be several climates represented on those which could conceiveably have them. (I think this could be put into place for everywherebut Tatooine.) This could open a whole newfield for dancers...I speak of course of ICE SKATING!

Not only would winter environments add an additional touch of realism to Galaxies, but it would also open a huge opportunity for the dance profession.

I came up with this idea while writing an entry into the male dance suggestions, I was thinking about all the times I've seen male dancers...then I read an article about the upcoming Olympics and somehow the two got lodged together in my mind and I realized that ice skating is something which has very distinct male and female moves and would be a great addition to the game. (Personally I'd like to see skiing added to the game too...you can find references to that in the Jedi Academy Trilogy) By adding ice skating, the Devs could even alleviate part of the "problem" with the current dances not being masculine enough because they could add many male-specific skating routines.

Other avenues would open for Tailors and maybe even medics because of this! Tailors could create costumes for skaters, and medics could treat frost-bitten fans who forgot to bring along their wooly coats. 8-) (I've often wondered why people don't collapse from heat strokes on Tatooine. Weather should affect health, action, or mind in some way IMHO)

Anyway, that's my idea...feel free to take it and use it, lose it, or abuse it as you see fit.

Lilo thats a great idea. Figure skating is a personal favorite sport of mine, (winter sports are about the only onesI watch and skating and Ice dance easily top that list.) I dont really think it would ever make it ingame, but we can dream.

Lilo, I've had the same ideas bouncing around in the back of my mind (keeping down the ever present number of cobwebs), so thanks for bringing them to the forum. Figure skating is one of my favorite sports to watch (and I am passable as a 'round the ring skater as long as you don't ask me to do anything other than put one foot in front of the other). I can just see the pairs and dance couples now! Wow! It isn't likely, though. However, if the devs studied the movements within the male skaters' routines, they might be able to come up with some nicely masculine moves for our much neglected male dancers . . . perhaps I should send them a copy of my Salt Lake City Olympics figure skating competition video . . .

Weather has also bothered me from day one - or the lack thereof, I should say. Naboo is inperpetual Spring! What's with that? I want seaons! They don't have to happen every hour on the hour . . . how about a change of season bi-monthly? Seasonal changes at different times for different planets? I for one would be more than happy to have a reason to cuddle by a toasty fireplace with Roho!

I can see it now, a bunch of rebels huddled together outside their base on Hoth watching an exotic ice skating routine so they can get mind buffs. Lyrical would be interesting to see done on ice.

I don't mean to sidetrack your thread Lilo. /bigHug Lilo But seasons would be a fantastic add on to the game! Talk about immersion. Of course, it seems I did see leaves blowing around from time to timeoutside Kaadara, could have been my imagination tho, its been a long time since I've been there.

Ice skating would be SO awesome. I always wanted to be an ice skater IRL. This would be the perfect avenue for my skating desires.

Think of all the possibilities! There could be competitions... and Intergalactic Ice Capades... *boggles*

hehe not a problem at all, Lei. Actually, I wanted to see some discussion about the seasons as well, because I don't know ifthere really an appropriate place to post aboutit. I figured that the two subjects kinda go together, so I may as well post here first and see what the initial reactions are before I post on a server board or something.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to think skating would be a good idea. Keep up the great work with ideas on how andhow it can (or can't) work!
