For Entertainers, Those Who Like Being Entertained, and Those Needing Entertainers
Kettemoor Entertainers Unite!
With the waves of ennui and troubled times, the lockdown and crackdowns, the raids and the trades, its been a quiet time for the Entertainment Industry. This is a great time to organize, a great time to train, a great time to show the people of Kettemoor what we can do to put a smile back on their face!
I have asked for the help of numerous entertainers and we are offering management service to help organize and unionize the Entertainers on Kettemoor. If you are an Entertainer, read below and join in, we'd love to have you active with us!
If you are someone who supports entertainment and wants to see it active: image designers, creature handlers, tailors, cooks, bartenders, cantina owners, armor and weapons smiths, droid engineers, medics and doctors, roleplayers then please consider offering your services for the Entertainment and Hospitality troupes to use and coordinate for shows, jam sessions, training and stories.
If you are someone that NEEDS entertainers for a special dinner, a conference, a hunting safari, a party, an opening, a dedication, a wedding, a storyline, something BIG then you'll want to remember this channel, the names of people, and contacts for jobs. We'd love to work for you!

ENT for Entertainers of Kettemoor and /ENT to speak, its THAT SIMPLE!
II. CONTACT Tandaava, Tiaga, Eini, Illya, or *any* entertainer you see on the /ENT Channel if you want more information, want to be on a distribution list to be contacted for jobs or events or need help with anything. (Ingame email)
III. SHOW up for classes to have a fun time or see what can be done in the profession! We'll be hosting an ongoing series of dance and music classes in informal jams and roleplay cantinas as we go. This is to teach entertainers a common vocabulary and give them a set of skills they can wow everyone with. There will be more special advanced classes offered later.
IV. MEET your fellow Entertainers and explore the dynamics of large bands and larger dance troupes. Its more fun when you have other entertainers who are as dedicated as you are! Announcements for gatherings will be done through an ingame email distribution list and the Channel as well as occasional announcements on the main Kettemoor board and various smaller boards.
V. CONTRIBUTE with your ideas. We want and need your creativity whether you are an entertainer or not and value your input. Ideas for costumes, skits, songs, storylines, shows are all wanted and appreciated. Come and get experience leading professional troupes, playing with the combinations and possibilities in ways you never could before.

The Academy
Three Classes, Three Levels, Three blocks of time that can enrich YOUR Life!
With the Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced classes in Conducting/Composing and Choreography you'll learn the tools you need to be as creative as you want. Learn to manage a band with solo's, pausing, musical phrasing. Find out how to deal with common problems and shortcuts that save headaches. Learn to feel comfortable anywhere on the dance floor correcting for drift, adapting formations and combining steps for visually unique elements.
Beginning class is for all experienced entertainers. Cornerstone skills are emphasized, tricks and workarounds are shown and theory is introduced. Even Masters will get something from this class.
Intermediate class concentrates on operating group entertainment. Working alias files explained, more complex arrangements build from beginners foundations. This is a class with skills requiring a lot of repetition and time but also contains elements that are easily adapted for spontaneous grouping.
Advanced levels will address coordination of music and dance into advice on creating visually and audially interesting shows. Continued classes for discussion of presentation, socializations in audience interaction, unique venues, and managing a troupe professionally.
Our entertainers have lengthy experience in the subjects they teach and would love to instruct you. You will be engaged to come up with your own creative responses in flourishing, music and troupe activites.
Classes are 2 hours each.
Students will receive glossary and macro sheet.
Some macro set up required beforehand.
Advanced class requires previously sucessful completion of the Intermediate level.
Registration fee to go for costs of graduation award and certificates as well as any rental fees.
Popularity will result in increased classes at optional times.

I guess this means that Tiaga, Illya, and Tandaava will not be participating in the Cantina Crawl scheduled for the same time?

Not this weekend, no.
In fact I'm not sure the first thing to do to even be part of one. After over a year of constantly dancing I have yet to master it and pretty much can't grind anything for over an hour. Sounds loads of fun but I'd probably be awful at it.
The situation on Kettemoor is somewhat dire for entertainers.
Kettemoor has never had entertainers that were organized together. They've never had an entertainer's guild that was influential and tried to serve the entertainer community at large. They've never had consistant roleplayer guilds that supported entertainers in such a way that its institutionalized. There is little cooperation, communication and almost no organized troupes on the whole server.I can think of one and its small.
When I was active in cantinas and troupes before last year I made some overatures but not a lot of desire to get together. I came back and I'm trying again.
So a lot of repetition, spam, advertising, trying to raise awareness, support, make something viable that the community can do with or without me.
The classes are part of that. 4 weeks ago I had 5 or so entertainers on my list and half had left the game. I have now about 90, many many master dancers and entertainers some that post here regularly. Almost none of them have any experience entertaining in troupes, unusual venues, creating shows or sets. Musicians who don't pause or phrase or coordinate and dancers that don't know how to correct drift or use movement to do so.
I don't know if it will work. Could be a complete flop and I could be run out of town but its worth a try. There are talented dedicated entertainers there they just need some tools for creativity and some encouragement and help.
Cantina Crawling might have to wait for me until I know I failed again or it takes off.
But that was the sweetest offer I've yet received to even consider a cantina crawl. Thank you.

You make it sound as though Cantina Crawls are some exclusive club full of masters or something. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
Cantina Crawls are just a party for live entertainers. Nothing more. You don't need skills, you don't need specific clothing, all you need is a character on Bria (or whatever server is running the crawl) and your party spirit. There are no invitations and no reservations. Everyone is invited and welcomed.
Having said all that, there is no reason people cannot run other events opposite crawls, and I think it's a great idea to host events designed to spark entertainer enthusiasm on your server. Unless you're running these events every friday night, saturday afternoon and saturday evening however, there is no reason you won't be able to eventually attend a crawl, should you so wish.

Well its one of those labors of love we go through and I don't have a lot of time for other things like even dancingas so many more people need to know or be introduced or talked to.
Someday I'd love to do one. Friday being most probable time for me. The classes might well be on sat and sun afternoons for the next month or two depending on interest. (Or like I said I'll have a lot of free time coming up)
It hasalways seemed pretty exlusive though even though I know that's not the intent. The community just speaking on these boards is exclusive because of such a small percentage of contributors and I've never felt I've had the time to contribute enough here to really feel more than an observer.
I need a secretary. I need to be able to say these things need to be done and delegate but I haven't found anyone yet to do that with. Especially if they wan't to ever participate in a cantina crawl too.

If you ever need a few entertainers for some bit part roleplay or something different I'll be there for you. Someday I'll be crawling too and you are all welcome. Constructive criticisms, advice and feedback is always great!

I think that your idea for entertainment courses is great, and salute your efforts at improving entertainment in your galaxy!

I don't think anyone meant to imply that you should feel pressured in any way to leave the activities on your galaxy for a Bria cantina crawl. SWG as a whole would be in trouble if everyone left their home galaxies for Bria all the time - each and every server needs entertainers, and needs knowledgable pros to guide the future generations of entertainers. Cross-server eventscan be fun once in awhile - meet 'face-to-face', as it were, with people you know from the forums - but if we were to drop our home-server activities for them too often, every other server would suffer in the entertainment field, lending credence to thenotion that there aren't enough live, ATK entertainers to support the community. With the cross-server events, as with so many other things, there is value in rarity.

I *did* mean to imply that I was concerned your attendance may be lower, if there are entertainers on your server that like to go to the crawls (or at least dancers).
I didn't take the time before to say I absolutely love this idea. I may have to create a character on Kettemoor just to attend (though I'd probably be needing to take advantage of that scholarship program). I'm a little swamped for time though, so I may have to skip the beginner session.

I love this idea, the academy.
I just sent you a PM with some other ideas I have.
To add to this, last night we set up a jam in Tyrena. A Bothan fellow whose name escapes me at the moment called out and Kehe, Freya and I answered the call. We played, some came in for and received buffs, and I (and I hope everyone else) had a great time (in fact, I got really tired and had to pack it in but would have loved to keep going). We played off each other, changed songs, it was great! In fact, it got me to thinking that I might want to see what I can shear off to get to Novice Musician, at least so that I can play.
I miss playing the bandfill.
So anyway, it can work. We can make it work.
