Thread: New Dancer Outfit (Not really, but puts the leotard to shame)

I listen to Hyperdrive radio as I play, and noticed the picture in their media section. I've been wanting a outfit to replace the flesh wrap, and leotard since they've been around from the begining. What do you think?

In a word . . . no.
Okay - a few more words - It looks way to S&M for my liking in a game rated Teen where the fleshwrap alone is a bit much. Dancers alreadyget treated like prostitutes and slaves by too many fellowplayers. That kind of outfit would just make it even worse.
But then, all the devs are guys so they'd probably go for it . . .

I have to agree with Kirah on this one as well. It's bad enough the way customers treat the female dancers. This would push it way to far.

Maybe my link isn't working properly. I don't see a new outfit here. There's a woman tied up with some bits of.. oh *that's* the outfit...
Uhm yeah can't say I'd be wearing that in the cantina. But I see plenty of entertainers wearing things I'd never wear.

We can't even get them to put the muscle shirt (wifebeater) back into the game as a schematic, and they already have the art for that one. 
But I agree with what has been said here, this is a bit over the top for a Star Wars game. Now if this were Spice Wars, this outfit would be perfectly appropriate!
Oh, and if anything sexy is going to be added to the game for dancers, males first, dammit!

Great artwork, very Boris and Julie, but ahhhhh... I'd have to agree with the NOs on this one. I think it would be WAY too awkward to dance around with our hands held in front of us like that to preserve decency. And the flourish with the high-kick? Eeep. Not to mention I traumatized myself by trying to imagine it on my Mon Cal. *shudder.

LOL, you're right, not thought of it on a Mon Cal. But the main thing I wish is that we would start getting some new styles over the leotard, wrap, and all the other's. They're good, and the tailors are doing a fantastic job with colors. Its just, I would like to see something new to wear entering the game. But with the combat balance, JTL and jedi's. I won't hold my breath.

Yes indeed it does put the fleshwrap and leotard to shame, however, it also puts BDSM to shame.
What you dont seem to realise is that when we portray female dancers, whether it's a female at the keyboard or not, we are treated like prostitutes and get a lot of calls to cybersex when we are just wearing dresses.
Put us in a fleshwrap or leotard and it gets worse.
Your artwork is very nice, however, this is a teen rated game and I have no desire to see 20 bondage fetishists high kicking, or arching in exotic4 in the cantina with a lot of HNG (Horny Net Geeks) screaming for us to ask the dev's to be able to poledance.
I am a dancer, not a stripper. I dont offer Lapdances or sex.
So please, no. I dont want to see this in game.

I don't think the combat balance will hold up new clothes all that much, since clothing is an art resource. Unless they are adding more faction clothes/uniforms. But JTL is probably really holding up any new additions. The art department has had two whole new species to fit clothes on, make sure they can do all the dance and other animations without leaving any part of themselves across the room, etc. Once they are done with that mammoth project (no Ithorian pun intended) then we may start to see some new stuff.
If they have had time to come up with all the new wookiee stuff, Jedi animations, new dance AND all the new stuff for JTL I can't wait to see what they can do when they concentrate on say, tailor, full-time for a while. It will be amazing I am sure.
