Dang thing must be broken again... Or is there ACTUALLY a posative postabout Pub20in the dancer forum?!
About timeI was starting to get descouraged about the dancer community, what with all the complaining and nothing else. (Well, except for Panthu's birthday thread...)Did SWG finally break our spirits? Apparently so, but I'm happy now!
I had the best entertainer party ever today, I think this update was the best thing that could possably happen to us, we get something we asked for, a new dance, and for some reason I'm getting tipped alot and the AFKers are really thinning out! Probably just got lucky today and it has nothing to do with the update, but I love my sparklers! And I in no way miss BF
Oh, I know.. its getting to the point where I don't even want to check the forums anymore.. its all Doom and Gloom and "Oh no the world is ending!!" no one loking for anything good in anything.
The way I see it, there are 3 basic types of entertainers.
- those who only wish to dance/play music and could care less about the rest of their servers and/or game in general. I call them the Greta Garbo type, because of their “I just want to be left alone …. “ flare.
- Those who wish to dance/play music and be part of the overall game/community with an actual purpose/contribution.
- And those who use their characters as an overpriced screensaver = afk zombies.
Now, is there a way for Devs to satisfy all 3 groups? Most likely not. Publish 20 was the best thing ever for the first group, didn’t effect the 3rd group and totally freeled the 2nd one.
Only the needs of first two groups are important to me and I could care less about the zombie group, since their style is borderline of cheating therefore deserves no respect, it’s basically a cheap way to the top.
I’m very happy for the first group being content, it means at least part of the entertainment community is happy and I see that as very important. However I belong to the second group, the dance and toys are very nice but I want more, I want true purpose in the overall game! Being an eye-candy bimbo is not my idea of fun and unless I change my views and switch sides to group 1 (which is very unlikely) that is exactly what Publish20 reduced me to.
Instead of faulting us for not being happy with the current situation and telling us to grow-up it would be lot more constructive to understand our needs also. Or lets just all agree to disagree
*shrugs*

First thing we did was get everyone of our PA a double sparkler, then put on a show on the roof of a PA hall. Coordianted Bunduki 2, lyrical 2, formal - a sight to be seen. "Best Patch Ever" was heard.
That is somthing I have never been able to figure out... How do you coordinate a dance??

Hi there...
It's quite easy, actually. When a group of entertainers are syncronized, as in doing the same flourishes at the same time, one person in the group is doing what is called a bandflourish.
For example, /bandflourish 1, /bandflourish 8 etc.
These can be macro'd just like regular flourishes.
As for the pub 20 changes, I'm having a blast!
I know about bandflourishes... I was wondering how everyone gets started and stops in perfect time. Or is that done with bandFlo as well?

Dancers all start with the same base dance, no flourishes. Then the troupe leader can start with the /bandflos and whee! Synched dancing.
