Lol, some people complain about how it is an exploit to buff ONE pool in 30 seconds. I can eat 2 vasarian brandy drinks for +800 mind, focus, willpower, 1 vagnerian canape for +300-400 focus and willpower in 3 seconds. The down time for entertainer buffs is too extreme. A doc can buff 6 stats in 80 seconds or less. A dancer without macros takes 8 minutes to do one stat.

There's a difference here. The food is an end product. The doctor buffs is a service using an end product. Dancer/Musician buffs are a service without a tangible product.

Now in real life you can go pick up some prepared food at a fast-food restaurant. That's an end product. You can visit your doctor and get immunizations. That's a service using an end product. Having your hair done is a service without a product. I can't think of any way someone can have their hair done in 30s, even with the buzz-cut speed line done in the military.

And how is this our fault?

If you'd read how buffs work- Doctors inject you with something. We do not.

Yes there are macros where it can be done in 30 seconds BUT:

1- If a dancer is not buffed then the buff will take 8-10 minutes. Why: Because as a master dancer the buffs suck a lot of action and we can't spam flourishes without having to stop and rest. Not ever dancer is buffed all the time.

Really, only with buffing can a dancer take down the dance time. Personally I am not going below 5 minutes, I don't feel confident in anything less. That's just me. And I won't do a 5 minute buff without a healer or an action buff.

But we can not normally take down the buff time- it's how the game was instituted, it's not our fault. And those of us who are still going to do them normally will. And few of us will become buff bots.

Offer the dancer one of the new chef drinks (don't remember the name at the moment) that reduces dance buff times. Yes, it works

LOL it's a wonder you couldn't remember the name. It's called T'ssolok. And if it is made properly you can get a 24% reduction in the time it takes to complete the buff. for 6m-12minutes. So just long enough for 2 buffs back to back. Better have your action jucied and a healer.

Sounds like a nice drink.

But one problem I have with that is that we still don't have an indication of what the buff will be until after the patron stops watching. So, the 24% reduction is nice, but after 6 minutes, I still won't know if the buff will last 2 hours. And if I'm wrong, then the patron is hosed. He's stuck with whatever duration I gave him.

I would say that some way for us to see the buff timer is a definite requirement. It has been on our Top 5 for a while now. If we can see how we are doing, then we can fully take advantage of drinks, buffs, and mad flourishes.

Love Star Wars, but the few role-players I could find on the servers were outnumbered by powergamers who wanted only l337 l00t and mad skillz. I can't justify paying $15 a month to play a game by myself.
Still cares enough to interject an opinion, though.

Screw "time remaining." We don't need that.

Just give us a little thing that says, "The buff will now last: X minutes".

Then update X every time we do a flourish. How hard is that?

I wish the dev's would reduce the time dancer/musican buffs took. As it is now many players are just going with the chef food & drink buffs and not bothering to take the time for a Dance or Music buff. Now of course with the two combined its a force almost un-matched.

on kettemoor at least, they're still addicted to mind buffs. i was giving 4-minute buffstwo nights agoin theed and at one point had the buff macro running for over 30 minutes, that's how many people kept coming in and asking 'can i get in line please?' later i went just outside of town to get survival xp for my husband, and kept getting tells for mind buffs. i guess there were no master dancers in the cantina. i changed to a chef title. i used to have to take the dance tag off on dant or dath, etc, but neverin theedlol. i have been busy with buff requests any time of day this week i've been dancing.

the best was when a master musician was there, and we both buffed a friend who has been addicted to dance buffs for a while but had never trieda music buff before. he sent me tells later 'i am soloing rancors!!!!!!!!' he was so very excited, it was hilarious.

What I was saying was that a 'time remaining' thing wouldn't work, I doubt that an update each tick would be much easier but theyshould be able togive us a "finished" message of some sort. Itkeep strack of when a medic heals and stuff so maybe a "You have enhanced "name's" mind by"number" for 2 hours" Or perhaps have the buff automatically end and kick in (with the messge as well) once the maximum limit (2 hours for master etc)of the dancer is reached.

Now that's an idea that's worth pushing up the line. Have the buff auto/end and kick infor the patron when it's fully set at maximum amount/time. Will take all the guess work out for everybody involved. They can always /stopwatch (or /stoplisten as the case may be) at an earlier time for a reduced effect if they so wish of course.

What would be nice (since our request to see how long a buff will last was given to the people being buffed not us. oy) Is to have something that told us we were done.

Talking to a programmer (not for this game) he said a system saying how much longer we had left would be very hard (the lag between server and computer, as well as trying to keep up with a buff done in 30 seconds)

But having a notice that comes up "Big you are done" after enough action was used for a full 2 hour buff would be nice, and doeable, because even with lag what's a few seconds added to the timing? I may be done for 30 seconds before the notice comes up but at least I know!
