Yes, Ma'am. All under control.
is this Javy behaving, or is he just pretending?

You'll have to ask Santa which list I'm on.
Actually, I think there may be a special list for people like me.

Back on semi-topic, I don't foresee a day *ever* where grinding won't exist by at least a semi-significant amount of the population, unless the experience earning rate is specifically gated to a maximum possible rate, (and even then, there'd be grinding to max what you can in that time, then wait till you can earn more). It's simply in the nature of too many players to want to achieve as much as they can, as fast as they can.
And if they make 'stopping to smell the flowers' more appealing (e.g. making activities that earn experience fun, or making activities that *don't* earn experience more fun than ones that do), there will be some people who learn what it is to be a midlevel character. But not too many more than are doing so now.
So, while I expect a lot of very good stuff coming from the combat upgrade, I don't think it, or any other publish through the life of the game, will stop grinding from being prominent in swg.

The only way for there to be no more buff bots is for the buff bot owners to stop botting. If you so badly wish this to happen then do your part and stop.

We've had this conversation with Naish, you shouldn't be having it again.
You should be eating cookies.
*Hands Eshi a plate of yummy chocolate chip cookies*

Dangit! Where did I put my troll repellant?
Well, until I find it, lets eat up and just ignore the troll. A fresh batch of cookies just came out of the oven and I'll start up some tea and hot chocolate.
*holds up the marshmallow bag*
Look what I remembered this time!

Hi guys, haven't heard from me in a while. Bet your heppy to see me! LOL
I think the best way to get rid of buff bots is to make SWG a game again. All anyone is doing is grinding on professions. That's really the core driving the demand for 24x7 healing and buffs.
I would say that 90% of the people using my bot are grinding for jedi or some other master prof. They come, get buffed and then go solo grind.
I really miss the good old days when you had your base stats and that was it. You could always find big groups of people hunting on endor. You always had a CH and a Commando along to tank and bail you out when things got hot. Now you can pretty much solo anything you want and places like DWB are simply ignored.
I would gladly trade in my bot for better game play, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

They're doing exactly this. It's the purpose of the combat upgrade. Combat will be challenging again and you won't be able to get buffed and go off and kill reds. Grouping will have a point again. That's the stated intention of what they're doing, and it's happening right now.
It will be interesting to see after it comes out, assuming they succeed, what excuse you use next to justify using your buffbot.
