Thread: New Flourishes... does anyone like these?
That's a very good description. When looking at motion capture versus animating only on the workstation this becomes even clearer. When you're trying to script an animation with no real guides it's like a best guess much like if you were guessing how to operate a puppet by pulling the strings. I'm just assuming after the main game was done they sent the motion capture team on their way and we might not ever see newanimation of that quality in this game.
I been warning you all about this on this forum about this since the patch went to the test center, i guess you all see now why i was so upset.

I think they are horrid, but I do think with some creative ideas Poplock has a bit of promise...and I REALLY mean that. I loved poplock, but I have also always loved to watch mime....so....I am all over it. LOL
For the others, I guess we got what we asked for though....they at least listened....more than I can say about previous SOE ventures.

I'd probably be more upset about the new flourishes if they were for dances I actually used. It's ironic to me that they can't even screw up something useless and do it right.
Try doing the flourishes wearing some clothing - the texture overlaps and breakthroughs are horrible, right there on top of the impossible physical positions.
What utter crap.
To add insult to injury, i realize this is a bit off topic.
But!
In this patch they have really made me angry for more then just the dance flo's. The mission payouts are a joke for entertainer missions as well as seek and destroy.
The knockdown nerf has completely neutered my TKA skills, (How the hell am i supposed to survive since doing knockdown ONCE eats half my HAM)
I had to maxmize my stats through migration to be able to fight unarmed, and to continue to Master dancer.
Having half my health eaten up by a single special has ruined my playing ability. And to top it all off because they DID nerf mission payouts, the entertainers are gonna get hit the hardest economically.
You thought you were earning little tips before? Just wait the economy now is gonna make it so you get JACK.
So in order to survive, you have to go do destroy missions that pay less so you have to do more of them, and when peopel go for healing at a cantina it will be empty because of economics.

Hate the new flourishes... they need to get the motion capture people back on the case sooner rather than later. One of them (footloose 7 ) reminds me of the Monkey walk (you know, 'Hey hey we're the monkeys'), poplock 7 looks like someone can't stand Michael Jackson's dance style... and as for the others... well... *sigh*
At least we haven't lost anything... wait... we have. I can't do my little generic turn quickly anymore, have to write a macro to changedance and execute it. Oh well...
As for the ent missions... I could cry. Having moved to the hotel for performing, in quiet times I do those missions to help things a long. For less than 200 credits I'd be better off begging in the streets! Hope they fix this in a hotfix.
I am very sad. One of my two favorite flourishes (flourish 7 from Rhythmic-- I think it was actually a generic flourish) is gone!!! The flourish that replaces it looks absolutely terrible. What *were* they thinking?
Of all the things they could have been working on to fix the game, and they do this to us??!!!
Why, why, why???
If they don't fix this, I may have to give up dancing.
