Macro Name: antiBot

/invite;

/blink;

/pause 1;

/m antiBot;

Target your favorite bot. Type /m antiBot. Sleep soundly.

Edits to make it shorter and correct the launch command.

Are dozens of dancers everywhere getting into coding macros now?

That sounds like immature griefing to me, not to mention you'd spam the chat with [name] blinks every second...

Entertainers are the reason macros became popular in the first place...where have you been? We used to spread macroing tips in groups all the time, now pretty much everyone knows how to at least make a simple one.

Yeah, yeah. I'm being a bit facetious.

I don't know about the macro thing coming from entertainers. I got my macro knowledge from being an Artisan first.

But yeah, the biggest macro annoyance is somewhere between entertainers and starport spammers... both because they spam.

If you don't like the/blink you can always /mood none and /mood bubbly.

Wait a minute.

How exactly is disabling someone's bot ingame usingthe tools the game offers you immature griefing when BITCHING UNTIL THE DEVS DISABLE MACROS CALLING MACROS isn't? At least if you do this, you're surgically targeting your actual problem. With the devs' fix, there's going to be a lot of collateral damage.

1) It's not your job to police the game.

2) If the person comes back to their computer and immediately contacts a CSR you could be facing a ban.

3) I'm not bitching until the devs diable macros, I'm posting my opinion like everyone else. Nice try at putting a spin on it to meet your own goals though.

Not fitting, annoying. The /blink macro would make you worse than the buffbot.

You're right. It's not my job. Because my main isn't an entertainer. It's obviously the Entertainers' job because THEY as a group are the ones bitching about seeing (AFK) flags over peoples' heads.

2) If the person comes back to their computer and immediately contacts a CSR you could be facing a ban.

/shrug... I'm not going to do this. I'm going to make good on my promise to run macro entertainer bots on adventure worlds every night for as long as I can, especially if I can figure out how to do it if and when the devs make their change. Mean-spirited? No moreso than crippling the advancement of several professions and lessening the enjoyment of several others.

My goals are for this to be a better game for EVERYONE... preferably with changes that do not negatively impact the gameplay of even a small group of people. I'm not sure how you think spinning something helps me achieve that goal, nor even why you'd think that my characterization of entertainers whining until the devs caved is anything but accurate. Read your own forum, its cousins, and the 100+pages of replies to THand you'll see just how accurate it is.

You must have missed the fact that my main is a dancer somewhere in your ranting with yellow text. I have no problem with buff bots, I get so many tells for buffs all day long that they help me more than hurt. If people want buff bots gone then we need an auto-kick feature added to the game. Removing AFK players won't make the game any better, but whatever as long as it keeps the babies quiet about recursive macros being the reason they might end their lives it's fine with me.

Oh, and I'd like to add that buff bots are not doing a damn thing to a single entertainer anywhere. This age old discussion is the same argument that's been going on for a year. People don't like to tip entertainers, never have, never will and the crybabies like to point blame for it instead of taking up a second profession that will make them money.

Woah, now THAT is an interesting take on this whole thing...

Not unlike some discussions that were floating around in the Aritsan forum about Harvester Certifications...

If the person came back to their computer and contacted the CSR, the CSR would tell them they can just use /ignore or take the /join out.

See, joining a group is a voluntary action. It doesn't matter if it's done directly or through a macro, it is a voluntary action. Nobody can force someone into a group, the person has to accept the invite.

Show me where we asked the Devs, no wait, show me how we **edit**ed until the Devs disabled macros calling macros.

I'm dying to know.

We proposed a lot of things, but we Entertainers have basically agreed to disagree whether using macros while performing was okay. Some use them, some don't. Some have complex looping macros that will be destroyed by such a change and are not happy about this prospect.

As far as all the entertainers celebrating this change, it's simply because we've asked for awhile that they do something to show that they don't like the AFK'ing, or the buffbotting, and we'd like to have them take a stand or make their intentions known to the game community when it comes to AFK. This was a sign we've been waiting for, but it's definitely a sign that brought some controversy to the community.

Also, keep in mind that this isn't going Live tomorrow or anything. They threw this at us to get feedback, and feedback is what they're getting - and lots of it. Please keep your thoughts on this potential change in the Development forum thread where it belongs and where it will get the most attention. Sticking around the Entertainer forums trying to lambast us for "**edit**ing until the Devs disabled macros calling macros" isn't productive or effective in anyway.

If you want your displeasure with the Dev change to be heard, please post it in the appropriate forum and avoid coming around here just to flame.

Please refrain from this kind of language, thank you. You're fond of that word. It'snot appropriate for these forums.

So, which one is it. You're going to run buffbots just to spite us, yet your goal is for this to be a better game for everyone...preferably with changes that do not negatively impact the gameplay of even a small group of people. You're contradicting yourselfright there, so please tell me what your real intentions are.

You promise to run macro entertainer bots on adventure worlds every night for as long as you can, especially if you can figure out how to do it if and when the devs make their change. This will negatively impact our gameplay, even if we're a small group of people.

So do you want to hurt people's gameplay, or help it?

Get your intentions straightened out and try again. Oh, and adding in that you'll run buffbots"especially if you can figure out how to do it if and when the devs make their change" is especially spiteful. Save your spite and your negativity towards us, God knows we get enough of it in-game from combat players who want nothing to do with us. And don't tell us how you're single-handedly going to try and ruin our gameplay, while then professing your desire to have this be a better game for everyone. You know this negatively affects our professions. Saying you want a better game for everyone after pledging to try and hurt our gameplay as much and as often as you can makes you look pretty darn silly. And it shows yet again how badly a fix for buffbots needs to be implemented.

I don't know who to side with, the Spammer who hates buffbots or the actual buffbot.
