Edit: *sigh* Tab and enter are NOT the same key.

Anyway, for those who don't know, aside from being an entertainer, dancer, model and one damn good looking twi (If I do say so myself ) I am also a tailor. I've recently created a catalog of my clothes, with something very very useful if you're trying to pick something out.

Not only can you see what color options you have for each item.... You can select the colors, and actually SEE it in those colors!

So go have a lookie!

There isn't really a "standard" color code. Every tailor does it a little different. Most tailors opt for something simple that can be explained in short words to their customers, since the customers have to figure out the code themselves. Typically this involves a screenshot of the color palettes with a grid of numbers and letters.

Since I've got a script to do it for me, I opted to go for something that would instead be easy for me to use, given that depending on the window size/number of palettes, the colors can be displayed differently. This has the advantage of it being opaque to the customer. They just take the code and give it to me. Systems that rely on the customer creating it invariably end up with the customer saying "I want this in colors 3D and 8F" with no explanation as to which color where, and inevitably they meant the OTHER way. By not saying which part means what color I can be sure that what I make is exactly what they mean.

I've written up an explanation on the tailor forum, I may include one on the site itself. I knew when I was making it that it would probably see many times more visits from other tailor's customers than from mine. I'll bang something up tonight, and if you've got a tailor you like to go to and want an easy way to order from them, you can suggest they learn my codes.

FYI, this has been added to the tailor link directory, so you can always find it if you need it

thanks for the info and thanks for offering some way to "standardize" the coloring. I'll refer my tailor friends to your site as well as the tailor forums so that I can try to communicate better with them when making orders.

i dont really like the comments you say about black in there. to quote them:

"But...what about my black duster?

So you still want to wear black, eh? /sigh. Ok, you can do that with most any skin color, but realize that pure black or pure white outfits generally tend to look pretty boring. Adding just a little variation can really vitalize an outfit. (Greys don't count as variation in this sense, I'm afraid...) Experiment with adding a dash of red, green, or maybe a blue. I think you'll be pleased with the results.

Hope this is helpful, but remember that it's intended only as a beginning for people with no clue how to work out colors. There are many, many other combinations that can work, and the best way to find them is to try them and see. Trust your instincts. If an outfit looks just a little "off" to you, chances are that it is, even if you can't put a finger on why.

Safe Travels!"

personally my character's clothes are all black, no other colours, or shades. and i make black look damn good hehe.

but anyways, great work on the sight

Um...I don't see any options to see specific colors on specific clothes, only a seperate color page. What do you mean you can see an item in a specific color? How does that work?

Okay nevermind I discovered the problem. My browser has links set to exactly the same color as your background! What are the chances? Anyway, great site! Do you plan on adding more jewelery besides the 2 bracelets? I am studying tailor myself so this will be a very useful site to send my customers to, thank you!

I'll be adding necklaces when the necklace bug is fixed (It's fixed on TC!) and I'll be adding in the rest of the bracelets and wearable containers when I add support for items with no color options. There are 5 bracelets, but three of em have no options.
