Thread: what kind of new dance do you want to see?

with the ent publish (10.2 i think?)a few months off has there been any word as to what the new dance and song will be for completing the quests? i have a few ideas that if implemented would push everything back even farther, but would still be cool (imo). my idea would be instead of a new dance, add in a new dancing option called "partner." you have to be grouped with another ent, and then pull up the radial menu on them, instead of the option to duel them, you now have the option to partner with them. they have the option to partner with you if they'd like, or decline and keep dancing solo. if you partner with someone it would be like forming a band for musicians, the partnered dance would be limited to the highest available dance of the lower level dancer. the part that would make this idea take forever to implement would be creating the new animations for dancers to make them appear to be dancing together and new partner flourish animations.


thats what i'd like to seeinstead of a new dance (especially if the new dance is exotic 5 and you dance like oola).it's a pretty tall order, don't you think? give me some feedback on this idea.

The new song has already been exposed on the musician forum. As for the new dance, who can say, but it won't be for couples.

Couples dancing has been on our "want" list for a long time, but according to the devs, it would take a lot of work to make it look right. Far beyond the scope of a mini publish, I think. We can keep hoping and asking, though, I would love to see it added to the game.

They can't even make Lyrical and Formal look right after more than a year what make you think they will ever be able to do a couples dance?

What would be nice is if they fix and finish the dances we already have.

I think someone found commands for "tandem" emotes in the TRE files. Not dances, but maybe a step in the right direction? (No pun intended)

I want anything that doesn't make male dancers look weird while dancing.


Some kind of modern dance would be nice.

As the Dancer Dev Pro-Tempore, I cannot reveal the Great Secret (tm) of the new dance. However, I am allowed to hint at it.


Listen to the sound files for the new songthat have leaked to the Musician forum.


Then, watch the film"O Brother, Where Art Thou". There is a scene near the end that takes place on stage. Motion capture files wereinspired bythe performancedone byUlysses Everett McGill (George Clooney). We feel that the dance goes perfectly with the new song, and answers the call for more dances that male characters can perform without feeling 'weird'.

I fully expect to do the quest, get the dance, try to invoke it and see the message,

"Sorry, your sex cannot perform this dance. BWAHAHAHAHA!"

Speculation on the musician forum from looking at the resource files is that the new dance would be called Jazz1. Doesn't say much but might be interesting. Let's hope it has 8 distinct bug free flourishes.
