I logged onto test center yesterday to tryout the new dances. I have two words that best describe my impressions,Disappointingand Depressing. Let me " break " it down alittle,

The two Breakdances are probably going to be ok for the male dancers who look awkward doing

Exotic 4, but from what I sawthe florishes are so similar it's hard to tell them apart. There's alot of

footwork but nothing special.

Read that as NO CONTENT, probably took the programmer 15 mins to make all 8 flos.

Now for the Tumble dances.

I tried both Tumble and Tumble 2, and these are NOT DANCES. They are the floor exercises from the Olympics.

As I ranged from one side of the cantina to the other, through the furniture and customers, I felt that someone should be holding up a card saying 9.6!!!! It was crazy !! And the cantina wasn't crowded, just wait til theres a crowd it will be pandemonium.

Why can't they add something to Exotic 4 our best and most profitable dance? ( it's also the favorite of the customers, hehe)

How about an E-5 pole dance?

Well that's my rant , I just had to say something, to vent alittle

I think that this is really subjective. I personally enjoyed dancing all of them. I think that some of the flourishes will add to some great routines and shows.

If/When they are ever able to add Partner dancing, then I think we may see some more stunning dances. However, if we are limited to solo or group dancing, I think that they are coming out with stuff that is nice for Dance Groups.

Personally, I think we have enough Exotic dances, and if they were going to do anything with the Exotics, I'd like them to flesh out the rest of the flourishes. If we ever got an Exotic Pole dance, I'd probably never even toy with it after I initially test it out to see what it looks like. That's just my opinion, and I know a part of the community would really like to see this. That's what makes us a diverse group.

I also have to say that I liked the new dances. Though the tumbling isn't exactly dancing persay I LOVE it. I was a cheerleader in high school, and truthfully it kinda brings back good memories ya know. Also I love having more diversity. The exotics novelty wore off a long time ago for me and I rarely ever do them. I'm also very happy for dances for the guys. Anything to keep them dancing by my side.

I'm with you Freya.I was in a Show Choir and Musicals in high school. A lot of the new dances (going back to Theatrical as well) brings back alot of that feeling for me. The newer stuff is great for Dance Ensembles.

Well, I don't like breakdance personaly much, but I don't like it IRL either and it doesn't fit to my character concept. It is not much starwarsy, but after all, there ain't too many "starwarsy" examples for dances yet. But anyway, I do not think there is anything wrong with breakdance. Many people will probably enjoy doing it. Espacially with the new event perks you could start breakdance contests outside the edges of some major cities that many people might find enjoyable or even entertaining.

As for tumble... well it ain't a dance as such that is true. But I still like the moves of it and the artistic defiance within. Don't know who did this with a full motion capture set but whoever it was earns my respect. I like it and I'll try to spin some show around it. It could be used together with theatrical, lyrical and possibly formal in some kind of theatrical show... well. Something that goes into the musical direction.
I don't think that it was wrong adding them. Even if you don't like it personaly you must not use it.

By the way: If you combine basic with some moves of exotic and popular you have some enough moves for a pole dance.

About exotic... I am quite curious why they didn't fix it already. The added flourishes to footloose, lyrical, basic and rhythmic recently. They introduced theatrical and they brought this two new dances. If they did all that, why didn't they do what the majority of the dancer community wants: "Finish the exotics already! 32 unique flourishes for 4 dances, none of which is identical with one of the base dances."

The only explanation I got is: They can't. Otherwise they had long been doing it. Possibly they can't find the original dancers or someone who dances something as this close enough. I don't know. And I don't know enough about actual dancing to judge how difficult or easy this might be.

Anyway. I believe it is wrong denying new stuff for us. Display us unpleased gives us a tactical advantage. Criticising may bring improvements. But denying right away will only bring us disrespect.

I SO want a pole dance!!!

I'd even do the MO-Cap for it but they probably couldn't use if in a Teen rated game.

Pole Dances would definitely make an interesting Rancor show.

We needed more street inspired dances. Poplock was good, but this combined with breakdance is a phenomenal resource, especially for male dancers.

I also enjoy the gymnastics inspired dances of tumble. Not only does it look physically astounding, but it can also serve as a means to travel extended distances in a controlled fashion.

Regarding the Exotic Flo's I believe that currently the stuff we're getting is old motion capped stuff. They probably havn't ( for whatever reason - maybe exotic started as 1 and 2, with 3 and 4 being afterthoughts ) got motion caps for more exotic flo's and don't have the time to do them (don't know how much work is involved but they are busy). Naturally we don't want hand made stuff as they tend to but poor quality.

As for the new dances, I LOVE them. Whilst yes tumble isn't a pure dance it IS an entertainment and IS fun. Only problem is the floor space it requires.

Here is my take on the new dances.

Breakdance -- this dance was needed for the male dancers. Too many of the dances are feminine. This one is a good dance for males. It does not have the level of grace and dignity I expect of my own character so she will not dance it often, if at all, but I recognize it as a needed addition for the male dancers (if there are any left). We needed this dance for the guy toons.

Tumble -- it's cute but it's not really a dance. I agree with the person who compared it to the floor routine in the gymnastics olympic events. That's just what it looks like. I can totally see it having a fun RP potential where we have a gymnastics competition and people try and out-tumble each other. I don't see myself using it as a dance for a regular band performance though... I can't think of a single song (not musical melody, but song, with lyrics and such) that our band has in its reperptoire, that this dance would make sense to perform with. Maybe someone will come up with a new one but... I doubt it. I have the feeling this one will stay on the "shelf" for me, along with theatrical, rhythmic, and footloose, as dances I rarely ever use.

As usual, I'll probably stick to my old standbys of popular, poplock, formal/lyrical, and occasionally exotic.

Both Breakdance and Tumble make for excellent group dances. We had some fun playing with them tonight on Kett.

I can also see where taking some of the flourishes from Tumble to add to a routine. It's going to take a lot of playing around to find a good combination to combine it with, but I think it has potential.

Tumble is theperfect dance to move to another side of the cantina without stopping the dance, andI personallylove it for that reason. Simply /changedance tumble 2 (or tumble 1 for shorter distances), do your handspring, and voila! You are on the other side of the cantina, ready to /changedance to the one you started from.
