So today I was all excited, new songs to play new dances to preform - I was greared up for something new and fun.
Then real life hit me, I had to go pick up my dogs from the vet. So I figured I would stop at the store and pick up something for dinner on my way home.
I get home - and found I had tumbled my way out of the cantina and down past our cities shuttleport.
I really get around

*giggle* yah those tumbles are hard on the positioning. But SOO beautifull!!
The only real solution is to not do tumbles while you're going to be AFK.

I was so excited I rushed home and started tumbling in our great lawn. My husband was watching over my shoulder and I wasnt paying attention but I just about tumbled right into a visiting jedi - who was like wow those are some cool moves. He got a buff!

Tumble is a perfect outdoor dance for the sheer reason of the amount of drift that you experience. I love it so much though, that I don't care.

I tried this for the first time this morning. Holy crap! If I could cover this much ground when I was trying to run on Dathomir I'd never clone! I'll be working on the timing for this routine for a while I see.

With a little practice it can be kept under control. I was able to tumble on a player cantina stage last week on TC without running into the sides much at all.

Yes, but not all of us have you're super-human talent with drift control, T.

It looks to me like the old "flourishes come back to the same spot where you started them" rule still applies with Tumble (I didn't test it extensively, but it certainly looks that way). If so you just need to time all the flourishes (to within the second or half-second, so do it a few times with a stop watch and average them). Once you know that, just use Tiaga's aliasing method to set up the timings in your aliases.txt file, e.g. (example only -- I have NOT timed them yet):
tum1: /changedance tumble2; /flo 1; /pause 11.5;/
tum2: /changedance tumble2; /flo 2; /pause 12;/
tum3: /changedance tumble2; /flo 3; /pause 20.5;/
endtumble: /stopdance;
... and so on.
Then you can just make another alias like so:
mytumble: /tum1 tum2 tum3 tum1 tum2 tum3 tum1 tum2 tum3 endtumble;
And you should be able to tumble for the entire routine without the "center" of the dance drifting.
I do this all the time with Theatrical, arguably the hardest to control of all the dances, as well as formal/lyrical (which I normally combine) and while it can't make the dance totally driftless (a half-second of lag can cause you to drift even with a perfect alias or macro), you can certainly dance for several minutes this way without ending up out in the alley or something.
I don't use macros ever since Tiaga educated me about aliases, but I think for a macro all you'd need to do is set your pauses right and then just chat-edit-copy/chat-edit-paste them to make the macro as long as you wanted. Personally, I prefer aliases but I am the only dancer or musician that I know on my server who does.

*bows with just a bit of jealous grumbling about that darn Tiaga ![]()
I worked on this for a short while tonight and managed to have better control... well except for the handstand in the center of the table in the Bestine cantina... But it was way better than when I practically tumbled from one end of my city to another early this morning
Even managed to WOW! a few people which is always good. Wasn't too impressed with the break dance moves but I'll bet those look good with a group.
cheers,
Ikewe

We danced with a group on the roof of out PA hall naboo-style hall). Lots of space there, so that roof is finaly good for something.
Any idea if Mayors can decorate the roof, since it's outside?

With sending the /changed and /flo command at once this may cause them being executed in the wrong order... depending on your ping time.
PS: Oh, and doesn't a /pause only count for a given command chain?

As with theatrical, if you watch the base dance it will bring you back to the same starting position. The drift occurs when the flos start in any position but this starting position. You do have a couple of choices.
1. Watch the movement and time it out. Make sure your flo starts when you come back to the "start" position.
2. Eliminate the base dance by timing your flos to kick in as the base starts.
Unfortunately, all the flos are of different length. The timing for the base dance and even forthe flos can vary slightly PC to PC because of differences with lag. Hence, not everyone will be in the "correct" position in a synched dance using /bandflo but generally it is pretty close.
