I used to be really stingy about giving out my performance macros cause they take some effort to put together but then i realized that it doesn't matter that much. I want to see folks putting on a good show to encourage others to put on a good show and maybe get some interest in actually being at the keys. So with that in mind here is one of my fave lyrical macros. (most of my macros are set up as bandflo it's too easy to change if you don't want it that way).

I don't rememberhow they wentnow, but I used to weave song lyrics into my macros so that one performance was timed with a song. Man those things were hard to write... Normally you just don't have the MAcro space to write one that long...

This was back before the cantinas were filled with bots, so I was usually thr only one there, so no one to annoy

I never use macros during a performance. That way I am free to improvise and recover from mistakes.

I usually do the song in a separate macro from the dance... then I get the song the way I like it, then coordinate the dance and timing. I am too lazy to post my macros

I thought of that, but the timing never goes quite right

I wrote a music to go with an absolutely stunningsong I found on the Song Macro Forum to use in a pagaent. It was spectacular. The hard part was going first but my performance set the bar.I was the only Twi'lek who didn't do an exotic dance and it was the deciding factor. I'll post the music I wrote for Alderaan's Gone after I get home. Actually, I'll post the whole performance (the lyrics, the music, and the macro to start both) for everyone to use. It's supposed to played using the mandoviol and I think either Ballad or Ceremonial (I think it's part of the start up macro).

Edit: I also have a routine written to use the lyrics to Lapti Nek with I think the Formal dance. It's not as finished as Alderaan's Gone (I write better music routines than dance routines). I'll try to get that posted as well.

You can actually write quite long macros, but there's a trick ... and a catch. The trick is to write the macro in another editor and paste it into the macro editor when you're done. The catch is that macros that are too long will eventually corrupt themselves and your possibly your macro file. So the solution is if you have a long performance macro you'd like to do, keep a copy of it in a text file on your computer or something. When you want to run it, copy it into a macro, then when you're done, delete the macro. It seems to take a while (more than 15 minutes or so) before any problems with macro corruption seem to pop up which leaves plenty of time to do a performance routine. I have some macroed routines that combine song lyrics, dance and effects that would be harder to do otherwise. The other option would be to link them together as a macroed sequence where the end of one macro calls the next one.

Or, you could just write an alias file, which can be editied using notepad or any text editor in Windows and then loaded in game, and your routinecan be as long as you want it to be if you chain long aliases one after another.

I've tried my hand at dance macros several times, but don't have any that are particularly good. Basically they are just the dances I like along with the flourishes I like. I never really got the hang of timing the flos.

That's the point of the thread. See what other's are doing, and tweak it to suit you. Don't like the effect i put in? Try a different one in the same spot. Macros are not always the best thing but if you're running a party and "directing traffic" sometimes it's nice to have a well timed macro so you can concentrate on other things. That is, after all, thier intended purpose.

good information in this thread but i really was hoping to see more actual macros. single flourish or full dance, mixed dance macros, ect. C'mon guys it's like sharing recipies. you don't have to give out your secret ingredient but lets help each other add a little variety.

I'll post mine tonight
