Has anyone seen one? Would there be any interest in building one?

I'm on Lowca Server, and I haven't really seen any popular private cantinas (maybe I'm just not looking well enough) on Naboo, butI would imagine that the first step for a successful Dancer/Entertainer PA is for Private Cantinas to be profitable and preferrable over City Cantinas. What do you think?

On Starsider there is a PA called The Academy of Dance and Music (ADaM). They are my neighbors and friends 1600m west of Keren, Naboo.

There is a PA on Starsider called Artifex Torqueo, or Tortured Artists, however you want to read that, located just on the edge of the player city Wild Sands, outside Mos Entha, Tatooine.

On Chilastra, I don't know of any organized entertainer PAs - yet. Part of the problem, I think, is that Player Cities aren't in yet and I see them as being a prerequisite to private cantinas/clubs really working well.

Another part of the problem is that many entertainers already belong to PAs. My PA is the same group I went through EQ and DAOC with and include my best online friends anywhere. I wouldn't be willing to scrap that PA for anything

But there are other options. Has anyone else given consideration to an organized entertainers' union of some kind that brokers engagements for its members? You wouldn't have to have a formal PA that way, but the Union could take a commission off of gigs it assigns and invest those commissions into a large private cantina once the Cities are up. By insisting on only offering quality entertainment it could conceivably be THE place to go when you want a band and dancers.

Me and Teedo started up the Nabooine Entertainers a coupla weeks ago, got pooched with the pa bug, and are getting our members back up, lol. NE has a hall a hop skip and jump south of Keren and we hold weekly wed 8pm EST parties.

Here's the thing though - it ain't really about the money. We're thinking of doing a road show... but in the end, our parties usually end up with 20+ dancers and a couple of patrons. But, we have a blast. We're in negotiations to help start up a player city, but its hard to do considering we would have to almost certainly dedicate ourselves either rebel or imperial. Sigh. But the parties are fun, hanging out with my friends is fun, getting /tells from junior members saying they need training and can't get it and being able to help them out is fun. Buying staffs and other props in bulk for the parties is fun. Next, I want to buy a series of gowns in different colours and hand them out so we all match exactly, hehehehe... And then... the road show baby!

I dunno, it's fun. we play together, we hunt together, I take care of the hall and crap, but in the end, we're not too worried about the money end of things.

I am in an Entertainer's guild on Wanderhome. We are new but GROWING.

Entertainer's Elite is headed up by Jewelz Clearlake.

I love the PA. We are always dancing together, we help each other out with outfits, and this weekend, one of ours is getting married. So a fun time at the PA Hall with that

Yea - that was more of what I was looking for. There's a really good group of us that all started at the same time - so we've all grown in our skill together. Now the cantina that we frequent is sooooooo busy with noobs that we can hardly have as much fun as we like - cuz it's just so busy. Every once in a while - we'll all go over to the hotel and party in the lobby just to get away andenjoy each other.A friend of our's just created a very sweeet cantina ..... so maybe that's a good option. I'll have to look up those entertainer PA's that were mentioned on the Starsider server and see what they do....

The Academy does a bit of all that's been mentioned here. We have a private cantina near our hall, as well as a satellite cantina in another city. We're in negotiations with some other player cities who'd like to have us help support their cantinas.

Additionally, we do paid gigs - everything from PA hall openings to parties to guild events to weddings. We had something going on each night this week.

We're also working with Tamboran, one of our members and owner of a theatre in Vagabond's Rest (a large player city on Starsider) to work on his Foundation Show, which will be a grouping of written songs and accompanied choreographed dancing and lighting.

We regularly work on organized routines for use at the events we're invited to, and are also going to begin offering the services of master and other entertainers for combat outings, now that we've tested out and understand the mind buff a bit more.

The site's in need of update to reflect some of our recent events, which I'm working on doing now, but also has a link to our forums with our code of ethics, and a bit more information about the Academy.

*smiles* It's great to hear of things going on on other servers, as well.

We have an entertainer PA set up on Bloodfin. We are the Bloodfin Entertainers Guild. It's kinda fun to walk around with the letters BEG next to my name... but honestly, some people have no sense of humor. Hehe.

We do gigs and we take over cities once a week a throw parties in random hotels/cantinas. Mostly we are just a group of friends who do goofy things. We are always looking for new members though.

Heck, we even have uniforms.

I belong to Explorer Corps (www.explorercorps.net), a multi-game guild that's been around for a long time and have a lot of experience with guild function and organization. We are a bunch of great people who get along and help each other out, and most importantly - we are friends.

We are located on the Starsider Galaxy. We have a PA hall up on Tatoonie in our little 'city' (I can't wait for player cities ) that has a great area for performances. The boys often gather for hunting parties and I am left alone int he PA hall. So, I am in search of some great company. I have been 'on tour' going to differnt cities, which is a nice change of scenery. But again, I tour alone and wish I had more company.

Basically, I am looking for other entertainers, doesn't matter if you are a dancer or musician; male or female. Skill level does not matter either. I want to form a troop of both dancers and a band. My future and not too unrealistic goal is toget a full band, all instruments represented, and have the dancers choreographed by using bandflourishes to put on a great show. Eventually when the troop is well practiced, we will put on shows and even tour. Hopefully charge admission and make some money too.

I am looking for players who want to have fun and play this game with a little roleplay. It does not matter if you don't play everyday, casual and power gamers are welcome. Leadership positions are available and many slots are open to those who have great organization skills and those interested.

Would mostly like to set up a Salon and Cantina. Probably will be quite a bit of time until I do.
