I've been making a macro to do all my flourishes. Does anyone know if there is a way to repeat so I don't have to type out 100 lines? I'd like to have her do her flourishes for about 30 minutes and then sit down for 5 and rest then stand up and start dancing again.

Currently it looks like this:

/start dance rythmic2

/flourish 1

/pause 60

/flourish 2

/pause 60 etc et

I need to add on the /sit, /stand/ commands on the end. But then I want it to start over. Does anyone know how to do that?

Great, now they are gonna nerf macros.

PS- they nerfed /bandflourish just because of people like this. I hope that macros don't allow for something this ridiculous.

The whole point of macros is to cut down on the time spent on pushing all the buttons. By using the macro I save time that I can use talking to other people and learning about the game. So please, if you don't have an answer or anything constructive to say, please don't post here.

Macros have been part of the life of an entertainer since day one. Best get used to it.

It's hard to avoid just retyping the commands over and over again unless you want to get tricky. Couple of things you can do is switch away from the standard SWG keymap temporarily and set up a Copy and Paste keystroke t copy and paste commands in the macro window.

You can also use /alias command to minimize typing; eg,

*macro beginning*

/alias danceXP /fl 1;/pause 15;/fl 2;/pause 15;/fl 3;/pause 15;/fl 4;/pause 15;/fl 5;/pause 15;/fl 6;/pause 15;/fl 7;/pause 15;/fl 8;/pause 15

/startdance popular (or whatgever)

/danceXP;/pause 120;

/danceXP;/pause 120;

/danceXP;/pause 120;

/danceXP;/pause120;

/danceXP;/pause 120;

/stopdance;/sit;/pause 180;

/startdance popular

/danceXP;/pause 120;

[repeat the series of DanceXP and occasional rests to rebuild Action Pool]

*macro end*

They nerfed the /bandflourishes during Beta 3. Originally, the /bandflourishes were giving everyone XP for the flourish, but this allowed people to join bands and immediately go /afk, come back a few hours later and have mondo XP. They wanted to discourage that, so now the /bandflourish command only gives XP to the person who invoked the command. I totally agree with this. It will allow for experienced bands to put on some really great shows once they get to a perferred level of skill.

The reason everyone liked the old /bandflourish was that it was free XP ... it didn't deplete the Action Pool. Wasnt so much to abuse the AFK issue.

/bandflourish was a two edged sword ... I liked them when used right but now I permanantly turn it off so that I cannot be griefed by other dancers and forced to do flourishes I don't want to do especially since I get no XP from it.

So add this command at the beginning of any play session

/bandflourish OFF

Bandflourishes in general are the devil in my opinion. Nothing worse than being in a lovely formal dance of Lyrical or such and be forced to do the poplock flourish 5-8.

Again ... /bandflourish OFF ... never leave home without it

Thanks Ghartan, that's just what I needed. I can't believe they used to have flourishes that didn't deplete the action pool. I'm glad they changed that. I'm more of a solo dancer anyway, I don't do troupes or anything. I do enjoy music in a band though, they did a good job on that.

If I wanted tips I would be doing lap dances like the rest of you. I'm not after tips, I'm dancing just to learn dancing. I'm getting the xp so I can heal wounds and then I'm never coming back. If you want to use dancing as a tool you use macros. If you want dancing as a profession then don't.I don't care if you disagree Hijo, but that is no need to come to a post and insult the way people play.

First of all, now that you are just getting ridiculous, you obviously haven't read any of my posts on the matter of lap dancing. So don't even go somewhere you don't know what you're talking about.

Next, you do realize that you have to heal BF in a cantina right? The value of dancing in the field is marginal at best. In other words, you WILL be coming back whether you like it or not. hehe

PS- great attitude you have on roleplaying and gaming! I think you should play evercamp some more.

PPS- you get lots more xp grouping with other entertainers. It will take you forever to get good at dancing by yourself.

Well I am playing with a macro right now, and not because I want to loop xp. I am more interested to know if anyone has ever tried to synchronize dancers using the same macro. If everyone was on the same macro and started it at the same time, conceiveably, you could have a chorus line effect. Has anyone tried this, or know if it's actually possible?
