Thread: TC5 (TC-Eclipse) is up! Come test the Dancer changes!

Come on over to the blue-froggy test server to test the changes, and see for yourself what's going on with the dances. I know I'm hanging out in Theed with some others, so come try things out!

I wanted to do some testing, esp with the blue froggies, wanted to try out the new songs and dances. But, unfortunately every time I boot up test center I keep downloading every single file directly onto my desktop and the timer says it's gonna take 2 hours. Now, I wouldn't mind waiting 2 hours, but putting everything on my desktop is not an option. hehe
Anyway, I'm sure I'll see all this stuff eventually anyway. I'd ask on the tech forum or a CSR or something, I'm just not a techy. Every time I ask something there, the responses are completely incomprehensible to me. LOL
The weird thing is that I have been on test center before, so I don't understand what the deal is now. /shrug

I loooove the new dances, and the new music as well, including funk, wow music to really dance too now.

you got a two hour timer? I got a four hour! Yikes! Guess I'll make some coffee.. gonna be here a while.

Drygo, when I played EQ2, I encountered a similar problem when I went over to the Test Server there (the guild I joined was an old EQ TS regular). When I first went to the TS, it downloaded every single file on to my desktop, and it took upwards of two hours. I thought it was kind of odd. When I logged out later, I moved all the files into the appropriate folder.
Next day, it did the same thing again, despite me already having most of the files. I did a bit of investigating and found that instead of getting a shortcut on my desktop, it move the entire .exe to the desktop, which is why it kept wanting to download everything on to my desktop instead of into the folder. I don't know if this is the same problem, but make sure that you're going through the shortcut on the desktop.
With them changing around a lot of the code, this could easily be one of the problems. Hope it helps to solve the long download process!

I vaguely remember folks mentioning that you can copy the .tre files from your live folder to the testcenter folder so you don't have to patch the publishes you already have on live. hope that helps

Well, the traveling base dancesand syncing of flourishesdefinitely do present some serious problems. I don't think that the problems are limited to those factors, either. At one point early on, after doing a /changed instead of a /stopd everyone saw me in a completely different spot than I saw myself at (i.e., under the arch in the cantina instead of back near the bar in line between Eshi and Roho). Later, when we attempted to see if there were any differences on board a ship, I did another /changed and again people saw me at a different spot than I saw myself.

Well, this is what I ended up doing. See, a lot of times when I inadvertently download something (I might click yes to something without thinking)I start getting all these popups and spyware stuff, and my homepage changes to some bizarre homepage. And, I hate, hate, hate popups. So, what I end up doing is a system restore to restore everything to an earlier date and my problem is solved. This has happened maybe 3 times in the past 3 years. And, the reason I did the system restore was because I kept trying all kinds of virus and spyware protection crap which never stopped the popups. Anyway, restoring my system always did the trick.
So, I tried it again last night, and voila, I was able to get into Test Center normally.
By that time, I didn't have much time to play cuz I was too tired and stuff. But, I did get to hear the songs and did the dances. (By the way, you know how they have weapons and armor to choose from on the blue frogs? Someone needs to tell them to have instruments there too) And, while I didn't really do any heavy duty bug testing, cuz l was really only there for 15 minutes, I have to say that I thought the songs and dances were amazing!

I've been trying to get into TC5 for about an hour now. I can log into regular TC. But when I try to load up TC5, I just wind up sitting on "Now Connecting To The Galaxy" until it finally times out. I'm not locked up or frozen, because I can get back to the character selection screen just fine.
Is this a problem, or do you think there's just too many people trying to get in, and I should try later?

Well I went and tested - and created my ultimate toon - I am gonna have to do this live now... Master Entertainer, Master Dancer, Master Musician, Master ID - never having been ID before I had a BLAST with changing colors styles etc.
However, the dances, the drift (sighs) it was awful the video that was made by another says it all with 100% accuracy.

Yeah I loved instantly changing from green to purple to pink.
But considering how much.. fun... I had doing the ID of ent on live I think I'll just play with ID on frog servers
