Okay, just curious what the rest of you people think about them. You see them from time to time but most don't stick it out. Most seem to be in it for a quick laugh, more to amuse themselves then anything but don't stick with it since that type of personality could never do it for long. The amusement would wear off shortly and they get bored and move on.

What about the Wookiees that take it seriously tho? There's a couple of them out there. Ones that seem honestly decidated to the profession and play a Wookiee because they feel its just another way to entertain someone. There's lots and female dancers out there. Even a few male dancers. Won't see many Wookiee master dancers tho and some of them definately feel their doing their part to make peoples days a little more fun and relaxing.

Lets be honest here tho.. they probalby aren't going to get the tips that female dancers do. Probably closer to what the male dancers get is my bet. Most players are still male and want to watch a female is some sexy outfit wiggling her hips. Understandable. Then you have the female players who appreciate watching a male dancer instead. Then there's other people who think its fun to watch a big ball of fur spin and shake its rump all over the dance floor. Not as many people in this catagory I don't think. So if your a Wookie planning on making big tips, I wouldn't count on it.

So, the rest of the Entertainment community, what do you all think? Can a wookie that takes its role seriously and is there to just try and make people smile find a place in your band? Or do you think the whole idea of a Wookie dancer is stupid and wouldn't want one around?

Please let me know your thoughts.

I don't know, I think wookie dancers are really beautiful. They seem so fluid, especially compared to the human dancers.

Hi olliefu,

Chewie never got a medal at the end of A New Hope because wookies don't take medals. period. The Wookie race feels that the things they do are the mark of who they are, not the things they get. It's mentioned in the wookie information in the manual and in the char select screen.

If Wookies never accept medals becuaes deeds are more important than materials, why do they take the customization and personalization of their bandoliers so personally?

If they're serious about it, I would want to show them my support.

However, I will admit... I'm very male and in my 39 years of living I've yet to grow tired of the feminine form. And the human female avatars definitely look nice when they're shakin' their groove thang.

But... say the person playing the human female is spouting d00d-speak while the male wookie is RPing his furry back-side off... well, I'm gonna /watch and /tip the wookie.

I'm all for wookiee dancers. Of course my character is a male wookiee dancer. I have no trouble getting tips, though I usually don't make enough for training as my skills cost 7k+ credits to train and I have a habit of tipping the medics that come in and heal, but I can do destroy missions to help with that.

Species specific dances would be a good idea, the different species need to move differently, a Wookie has a different grace than a human or a Twi'lek. Not seen many Mon Calamari dancers yet though.....

I am a male wookie dancer on the Radiant Server. I spend the majority of my time in Bestine at the bar there. I DO plan on becoming a master dancer there. I am currently Ent Hl 4, D 3, ID 1, Well on my way to D4. I have been at it steadily for the last week and catch myslef zoning for Hours doing it. Many other dancers IE Wookies do it for a laughs then leave after a bit. Unlike them thou I am a commited Dancer and love to do it. We have an actual troupe who gets together and will go at it for hours, with me of course, towering above the rest. I actuallygeta good amount if tips due to the fact of my popularity. If your going to be a wookie dancer you MUST spend the majority of your timein one spotso you can increaseyour exposure to customers. Also it helps to be talkative and friendly. I great people as they come in, chat with regulars, dance my rear off, and providesome comedy for people. Usually thou Iprefer to have the tips go to the ladies and tell the people tipping to give the tipsto them and not me. I get plentyof free stuff so I don't really need the money. Also most of the other dancers will be willing to teach you the sklills as you earn them, just as long as you do the same for the new dancers that will come along later .

Soto recap:

To be asuccessfulWookie Dancer manly male, be friendly, generous, devote all your game time towards that one profession, get lots of face time, and form and image with an established troup. Likea handfulof us in our group dance with the big black sticks. We really stand out and are quite a scene to watch us all go.

Good luck.,,

No dis'in Wookie Dancers! We tear your arms off 8).

Seriously though this is a matter of taste. I love to see a 350-400 kg Wookie do formal flo 1, and nobody does footloose flo 1 & 2 like a big ol wookie. Others may scorn it. The solution is easy- don't watch if it doesn't appeal to you.

Certainly a Wookie performance changes the character of the dances. It is a different aesthetic, one of power and ferocity rather than demuregrace.

All these skills, from Master Dancer to Business I are elements that support character creation - that is building an in game personality. I love to Dance.

My Wookie is a brawler as a main profession, but at times, I enjoy the social aspect of the exntertainer (being one in RL) He is healing III and Dance II, and makes an interesting dancer due to the fact that most of the time I come in to the cantina, I forget to un equip my sword, so on the dance floor is a very tall wookie doing a sword dance. It really looks interesting with some of the moves, just don't crowd in too close!
