Thread: Getting Flamed HOWTO
I've spent a bit of time on the various entertainer forums recently and there have been some visitors who have been flamed by the locals over the content of their posts. In the true spirit of being helpful, here are a few of the topics that have been tested before and are almost guaranteed to get you flamed. This will serve to enliven the otherwise very boring life we lead here.
Tell us that our profession is boring, annoying, sucks, pointless, or should not be in the game.
Thank you for pointing this out to us. We all hate our chosen profession and are desperately trying to become members of l33t combat professions instead. We find it deplorable that we can not solo Krayt Dragons, Nightsisters, or Super Battle Droids and wish to become killing machines that can pwn joo.
Ask us for a macro for hologrinding (which is going away soon) or setting up a buff-bot.
Since the entertainer professions are the easiest to grind, we all have macros lying around that we can share with you so that you can too. It's certainly easier than searching the forums for already existing ones, or, heaven forbid, actually playing an entertainer. We also think nothing of helping you get started on your venture of setting up a bot that will be in direct competition with us. Don't worry, we understand that you're too busy watching television, mowing the lawn, going to school or work, or sleeping to level up your character, and we completely understand that you can't wait to have your very own Jedi. We also think that it's nice that you'll be setting up a bot to park in a cantina somewhere that will help people. You get extra points for saying that the stupid holo made you do it.
Contradict us when we tell you that our professions have been ruined by AFKers and buff-bots.
What do we know? We are only simple entertainers who have no concept of how the game works outside of our cantinas. Our profession only exists, after all, so that we can heal and buff our friends before they go out on a hunt or to battle, and to shout "TIPS AND HEALS PLZ!" and "please invite me to your group for a buff." We certainly do not want to be able to socialize in a cantina with each other or with the battle weary folk who who wander in after having been hit in the head a few too many times. What would be the point in that?
Tell us that you can never find an entertainer out wherever you are when you are on, or that you can but you can never find a live one, so you're justified in setting up your own bot or using one.
It's true: we can't be everywhere at once all the time, so some bot out in the middle of nowhere is perfectly justified. It doesn't go far enough, though. Your doctor buffs are going to wear off at some point, so you should probably have a doctor sitting in a medical center out there. What if your armor breaks while you're out hunting Nightsisters? It would be too much hassle to go all the way back to Coronet just to get new armor, so you should keep a stocked armorsmith out there as well. Your weapon just broke after you failed in repairing it? Keep a weaponsmith out there too. None of them needs to be paid for their time, effort, or the expense of getting out to where you are anyway because they only exist to serve your every need.
Inform us that you pay your $15 per month and that it's your right to play the game however you wish.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us. We were all under the misconception that the verb to play meant something like "to occupy oneself in amusement, sport, or other recreation," [dictionary.reference.com] and not parking your character in some cantina while you disappear off for a few hours. This correction is duly noted.
Follow up to a post that was critical of your views, especially if your post was along the lines of one of the above, by reiterating what you said in the criticised post.
We are deeply sorry that we misunderstood what you said in your previous post and that we are a bit thick. Either we've fallen over too much and lost a few brain cells while dancing, or we've blown on a fizzz for too long and become a bit lightheaded. If you continually repeat what you said before, we will eventually see the light and come around to your point of view.
This is, of course, not a complete list, but it should suffice in getting you flamed should you choose one of these topics on which to expound. If you have any further suggestions or comments, feel free to leave them below. I certainly do not wish to be accused of being unhelpful in any way.

I was debating whether I should put that in or not, but eventually left it out because I haven't actually seen that flying around in the various entertainer forums all that much. Now in game and in the server forums is another matter, sadly.
I'm glad to see that people are enjoying this. I just got bored a couple of nights ago and looked for a creative outlet for some of my frustrations, not to mention being annoyed at our new pet troll who seems to be frequenting these forums.
Not sure that sarcasm works on clients, but it sure does on Entertainers!

Gah! I lost a chance to be condescending?!
