I am tentatively setting the date of Cantina Crawl XX on Friday evening, October 28th. This crawl will happen on Bria! The date will only shift if RL circumstances require, or if it conflicts with another event already planned. Hopefully it does not.

For those who only wanted to see the announcement, you can stop reading, I'm going to continue on to fill in a bit of what's been happening with me and what's to come.
The reason CCXX was so delayed can now be seen on the gypsy site at http://www.furplay.com/swg. I've spent the last few months (since late July) working on a trailer video for Second Life, as part of a contest they are running. This sucked up almost all my spare time, and also sapped my energy and desire to create another video. In short, I really needed some time off.
It was really nice to be able to put together a video which might be recognized and used by the development company though. Sony does not generally recognize the efforts of their community in any meaningful way. The trailer I created there may find its way to the home page of the Second Life product, and be used as a real trailer. It was an opportunity I could not pass up, to have a video actually recognized, to feel like it means something.
I think it is no big secret that I've not been playing SWG at all for the past few months. I don't wish to revisit all the problems and issues that have plagued the social professions over the years, and still do today. In the end, SWG is just not a game that caters seriously to the social player. As a result, I've been scratching that itch elsewhere (SL).
Going forward, I am not certain of the wisdom of continuing to pay for a game I do not play, simply so I can produce videos for it. It's hard enough to run the crawls and produce the videos...it's literally weeks of work and a lot of time and effort. At this point I'm also paying for the privilege of doing so, and this just does not make sense. As such, I regret to inform the community here that this will likely be my last crawl. I am gratified that others are stepping up to fill in the void already. Crawls are popping up on other servers and happening despite my absence, and it allows me to leave with a bit of a lifted heart. I tip my hat to those people carrying on the tradition.
As for the calendars, after last year, I promised myself I would not do them again. The reason is simple. It was yet another effort that took weeks to accomplish, and in the end the result for me personally was far more negative than positive. I did not enjoy having to turn down about 150 people who worked hard to create photos, having to be the cause of so much disappointment. I invite others to pick up where I left off with this too, if they are willing, but for me, I don't wish to endure that again.
I will see you all in October. Until then, keep dancin friends!

You know I'll be there! And I'm sorry to hear you're leaving, you will be missed
I think I'll suggest to Eevaa to have AMOR set up some future crawls for Bria. Take care, hun, I wish you happiness wherever you go.

Yes, Ni... I think we should keep the tradition alive.
I'm sure we can find a way to organize future CC type events.
Javier,
I'm sorry you feel the way you do about the state of entertainment arts. I've found the same frustrations that you have... trust me, butto me, being a dancer is what I make of it. I've never expected the game to give me anything (as far as content) that I couldn't already provide for myself, or by the other entertainers and friends around me.
Javy... I've never given into hero worship, and I won't start now. Yes, I've always admired you.. and what you've done for hundreds, if not thousands,of entertainers is astounding. I just want to say thank you. Many of us came to Bria from other servers to be an entertainer because of YOU...I hear this all the time. We all wanted to join that spiraling circus that teetered on the edge of the cliff.... not really sure if it would fall off, and be a part of something that was more than any game mechanic. You gave us that, and we all thank you.
I'll be at CCXX with bells on... No doubt about that.
Might be under a different name, out of respect... but CC's will not die on Bria.

Yes ma'am! I'll check in ASAP. I am in desperate need of an ID and Tailor, too.
