Thread: Mount Question....

I'm hoping someone here can help me, or point me in the right direction. I purchased the digital download of RotW, and as such, I got the varactyl (which I really like). Over the course of getting incapped nearly constantly on Kashyyyk (before they made the level pass), his vitality went down to 98/100.

I just bought a pet vitality stimpack (or whatever it's called), used it on the varactyl, and now his vitality is 99/99. I'm now like W T F? So here's my questions:

1) Is there a way to restore the vitality back to 100?

2) And does this mean that if his vitality reaches zero, he's no longer useable? If this is the case, this is a pretty jacked "gift", as the BARC at least came with a schem for a repair kit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There is no way to increase the maximum vitality. What I would recommend is not using a vitality stim until the value is significantly lower (~80/99), because the maximum lowers a little while the current value is raised to match.

At 75%, 50%, and 25% (temporary or permanent) your pet's stats get reduced so you don't want to let them get that low. I don't think a pet ever become uncallable, but it might become effectively unusable.

Greetings,

1. Unfortunately, no. Vitality is the equivalent of decay for pets. Everytime you repair and gun, for example, its condition goes down ... this keeps weaponsmiths in business. Same principle is used here for Bio-Engineered pets and wild pets ... keeps BEs in business, and to a much, much lesser extent Creature Handlers (by having to get and tame new pets). If the pet is killed, its vitality will decrease.

2. Yes. A vitality of zero, is the same as condition zero for armor or weapons, et al.

Performance of the pet is not effected until 75/100 Vitality, so don't use any more stimpacks unless your pet goes below that ... a 88/99 Vitality doesn't effect the pets effectiveness, it just looks annoying. Additionally, a Level 10 creature is not really suited to combat, so use it caustiouslyin battle when you can. I agree completely that the "download reward" should have been exempt from these general rules.

Ya basically when your pet becomes incap it can loose vitality. Every time u use a vitality stim pack it raises the vitality back up but decreases the max amount. I don't use these often maybe someone can explain it more in detail. I keep one wild pet that I use in battles where I think it will die an just release it an catch another.

Basically the pet is decaying like any weapon or armor in the game. When vitality gets low enough the actual stats on the pet start to drop. It use to be not sure since CU that you would let a pet drop to about 75% then repair it.

The thing is, I nevert use it for battle, lol.

I was riding it on Kashyyyk in the places you can only ride a mount, shortly after RotW was releasedand everything was aggroing. During that time, EVERYTHING was targetting my mount first and then me.Now, I can ride it with no problem, as I'm L80, so not much aggros me, and those that do are either so low level and not hitting my mount, or I'm in an area I can't have the mount out at all.

I always store it before fighting now,but there were times I left it out way beyond aggro range, told him to stay, and then as I"m fighting, the stupid thing would ignore the order and come charging in.

Oh, and thanks to everyone for helping me out with this

If you use incap recovery while he's down, you'll save the vitality as well.

Anakin: Master, I think my lightsaber is getting dull. Its not doing nearly as much damage as it used to.
Obi-Wan: O.k. when we're done showing the youglings around the temple, we'll stop by the bazaar and you can buy a new crystal. I hope you've got a couple million credits saved up for this.
Anakin: WHAT?!!?? I don't have THAT kind of cash!
Obi-Wan: Well you could try sharpening it on these younglings. I've got a headache and all their questions are driving me NUTS!
Anakin: hmmm.... Sharpen my lightsaber on younglings...... hmmmmmm.....
Obi-Wan: uh, that was a joke Anakin. I'll spot you the cash for a new crystal THIS time, but next time you're on your own.
