Is it that pets will not attack anything too far about their own level? I had two pets out, levels 32 and 20 respectively. I'm a level 80 and we were attacking a stormtrooper of level 50. They went into attack "pose", but never went over to do damage.
Can someone tell me about all this please?

Pets should attack anything regardless of level. But sometimes they don't. Who knows why - one of those mysterioius gremlins that sneak into the game. (I'm assuming that you are aware that the attack command doesn't work as well when you use the letter "a" versus using the whole word).

If you tell something to attack more than once it freezes in place, and if you then tell it to attack a totally new target while it's frozen, perma-agro can occur. So be very careful with attack commands, or you'll be looking for a shuttle so you can store your pet :/.

Last night on dant I was attacking a graul mauler lair with my mauler and after 3 attacks it would just stop and do nothing, I would have to issue the attack command again. I don't know why but it's just my mauler that does this.

thats a bug that is fixed in pub 20.
However, it brings with it other things we really, really do not want.
See my post in 'the art of pulling' thread for what pub 20 is actually like to play.
I warn you, it isnt pretty.
