Thread: ability question
For new tames you look at their stats in the datapad. It makes it quick to check a newly tamed pet for inate ablities. I trained them anyway for the CH xp and rechecked the data pad before releasing them back to the wild. The abilities are listed after attributes and before commands based on the wild tames I found with abilities.
If you open the train menu you will also see the abilities if they have them.
If you type /train with nothing targeted you will see the list of abilities you can train into a pet.

Am I correct to assume that if when I pull up the training menu and nothing is listed under the red "abilies" section that my pet does not have an innate ability? Thanks in advance.
Some abilities are "triggered" abilities that you have to command the pets to use. These abilities will be listed under the red "abilities" section on the command training menu. Others are passive and will not show up there. To teach a pet an ability that you have gotten, type "train" with the pet targetted and a list of the abilities that you can teach it will come up. Once you have so taught the pet the ability, if it is a triggereed ability, it will show up under the red "abilities" section of the command training menu and you can teach it a command to use that ability.
For example:
Thick Skin will not show up in the command training menu but Bleeding Attack will.
Side note: You get CH xp for teaching a pet a command to use a triggered ability, but no xp for teaching a pet any of the abilities in the first place.
