This just doesn't seem right. As a Creature Handler, I like ideal of taking a baby creature and raising it to be a lean, mean, fighting machine. If you take a baby creature and give it the same level and stats as a full grown creature, doesn't that defeat the purpose of the profession, or as least having baby creatures and making them tamable only? A baby creature should be lower in level and stats that a full grown creature. As you get more xp, the baby creature should gain levels and stats until it reaches full grown status. I think making baby creatures having the same level and stats as a full grown creatures, a profession that is still broken.

Having full-grown babies is a side effect of the new system. If the new system requires that a pet be used in combat, then you need to have a pet that is combat worthy, and babies aren't. I think this system is even more involving though. While the baby is full grown, as you fight with the creature you also teach it new things, teaching it abilities of your own chosing. You fight with the baby, you help it develop and learn new tricks. I find this to be more involving than the old system, where all you had to do was call your pet every day for a week and BAM- a full-grown combat-ready adult.
