For those folks out there that are having issues with the 'speed' of the new training interface, I give to you thefollowingthe training macro(s).
The macro is broken down into two seperate macros, due to the character limitation. The first macro is called TrainingDay1 and the second macro is called TrainingDay2. Simply cut and paste each section into a new macro, with the listed name.
All that you need to do, while this macro runs, is open up the 'Teach Pet Command' window and chose the command that you 'hear' inspatial. With the/pause set up,you will have 2 seconds to chose the commandspoken aloud. Thecommand will then repeat itself 5 times, in order to ensure that the pet learns the command.
The easiest method of opening the 'Teach Pet Command' window is to use the ~ key and the 4 key.
As soon as you chose the command for the current command being trained, you can open up a new 'Teach Pet Command' window. This will help to make sure that you are ready to chose the next command, before you 'hear' it in spatial.
All of the commands are in order, asseen in the 'Teach Pet Command' window,with the exceptions of Transfer, Ranged Attack, Group, and Store. Some people do not like training their pets with the Transfer command and the Ranged Attack command is not usable by all pets. The Group command is at the bottom of the list, becuase using it will invite your pet to your group, and will expand the radial menu, making the default 'Train' menu option switch from 4 to 5. Store is located at the end of the list for the obvious reason that if the pet learns the command on the first four tries, it will immediately be stored at the completion of the macro.
The entire process takes65 seconds to complete, from first command to last.
For those that are slower at chosing your menu selections, or have lag issues, I would recommend changing the first /pause timer on each command to 3 - 4 seconds, instead of 2, however this will increase the amount of time needed to train each pet to 80 - 90 seconds.
The /tellpet commands listed here just for demonstation. Feel free to change the /tellp command to what ever you wish.
A couple of tips for making this process move a long smoothly
- Open the 'Teach Pet Command' window and resize it so that you can see all of the commands, without having to scroll through the menu.
- Place the 'Teach Pet Command' window so that it is over the creature that you are training. This makes it easier to move your cursor to the command menu, if it centers on the pets radial menu.
- Chose an area to train the commands that is not being spammed with spatial chatter, so that you can 'hear' the next command clearly.
- Turn 'System Messages' off from your Spatial window, so that you don't spam your own window with ?s and !s.
- Name your pet after you have completed all its command settings. This ensures that the pet will learn its name quickly, since each command will automatically be learned, when it is re-issued.

I dislike bumping posts, but I found it extremely useful and think that it would help others as well.

here's a /bump for you
thanks for taking the time, I may just use this.
Oh and by the way, for those of you that were'nt aware, you can copy the above into a macro outside of the game, simply go into:
X:\Games\StarWarsGalaxies\profiles\YOURACCOUNT\macro.txt
obviously, replace with the appropriate drive letter and installation path

Thank you for the great training script concept. I've put it in use. One suggested improvement, and one other handy little script I use while taming:
That pops up the radial menu, and clicks the Train button for you : you just have to select the train ability from the radial menu (4 or 5), and then click on the appropriate ability in the dialog box. I also split out each train into its own little script ( PetTrainTrick2, PetTrainTrick1, etc. ) so it's easy enough to modify the order of execution if I ever feel so inclined.
And for taming, this works for me:
This little guy gives me a recursive taming macro of about the right length, dismounts me from speeder, and also gives me updates so I can know pretty accurately when the tame will end and I will either succeed, fail, or have something biting me in places I can't scratch in public.
Suggested modification for old, slow, lazy clickers like me (snippet, changes in yellow):
/say Trick 2;
/ui action radialMenu;
/pause 5;
/ui action defaultButton;
/tellpet play!
/pause 0.25;
/tellpet play!
/pause 0.25;
/tellpet play!
/pause 0.25;
/tellpet play!
/pause 0.25;

/pause 1;

macro TameMe:
/dismount;
/pause 1;
/tame;
/pause 1;
/follow;
/pause 5;
/echo Taming ( 6 of 36 )
/pause 6;
/echo Taming ( 12 of 36 )
/pause 6;
/echo Taming ( 18 of 36 )
/pause 6;
/echo Taming ( 24 of 36 )
/pause 6;
/echo Taming ( 30 of 36 )
/pause 5;
/echo Taming ( 35 of 36 )
/macro TameMe;
