First things first, please don't flame me...I love CH (been one since launch), I love this game, and I love all of you guys...I am just trying to help.

Ok, perhaps we have jumped the gun here a bit. I am going to go so far as to say that there is really no confirmation that SOME FORM of creature handling won't exist, melded into another archtype of course. Please read this quote form Tiggs below from his FAQ and perhaps youll see what I saw:

"Today our player professions by percent of masters is significantly skewed to the core combat professions as a very small proportion of our player (less than 1% of players) choose to master the professions of Bio Engineer or Creature Handler. For this reason, we are putting the focus where the majority of our players are putting their game-play investment -- on the core profession paths. However, there are some elements of these professions incorporated into several of the new professions. Players who were Bio Engineers will be interested in the new Trader or Medic professions as these two both incorporate some crafting abilities. These changes will reinvigorate the game world, bring the excitement of the movies alive in-game and put the player into a more active role."

Of course we all believe the 1% thing is a load of crap. However he does mention that both classes will be melded into others. Could this mean that creature handling could exist in the form of mount training? Could we still be able to tame and use up to CL10 pets, even non-mounts? He didn't say yes, but he didn't say no either. I think this would fit nicely into either SMUGGLER or TRADER professions. Perhaps even both? He DID say CH is gone, but he didn't say CH skills were gone...in fact the hints lead me to believe it will survive in some form.

Upon thinking of this, and reading Tiggs' posts over and over, I have become quite anxious to see these changes first hand tomorrow on Test Center. I must admit that most of the 9 "new" professions sound great, Smuggler and BH being two that interest me the most (it's the missions and special features of these classes that make them interesting).

And what of Jedi? Tiggs said this:

"Jedi will be able to choose any of the nine iconic new professions, including the Jedi profession. Regardless of a veteran Jedi's (existing active Jedi characters prior to the introduction of the game enhancements) re-spec choice the character will gain items and abilities that will represent the original accomplishments achieved by that character. These include specifically, the ability to take on the transparent Blue form of an ascended Jedi, a special Robe that is endowed with protective properties, and an exclusive new lightsaber with a unique color that deals more damage. All of these new items are being given to existing Jedi characters in recognition for their past achievements."

This means current Jedi can fall in love with BH, Smuggler, Spy or whatever, STAY THAT WAYand still keep their cool Jedi rewards. I hope this translates into some of the upset Jedi just picking something else since it isn't the class they once played. You won't just see glowy Jedi running around, you'll see glowy BH's, Traders, even Entertainers! Not too exciting, I know, but I have to say I am intrigued (no I am not currently a Jedi).

What of the rest of us vets? We get stuff too, as stated in the following by Tiggs:

"We want current players to stay with us and play through the new systems. To make this happen we are offering current players several exclusive loyalty rewards including the opportunity to try the new content paths, receive profession specific bonus items, explore 10 new advanced levels and an Elder Buff. This is a journey that we believe is necessary to grow the game and we want our community to understand why we feel that way and we want them to "try" the enhanced game before making any final decisions."

We wl lalso get an elder title, and NO TIME LIMIT ON OUR RESPECS meaning we can fully try each profession to it's extent without worrying about time limits.

Tiggs said:

"We feel confident that if our current players try the new systems they will stay with us."

I sure hope so. I feel really burned right now, and we will find out for sure tomorrow what the future holds for all of us. Some will stay, some will go. I for one have station access (EQ2, MxO, PlanetSide, EQOA) so if I like it, I very well may stop in the game and play it from time to time...If I hate it, I will never look back. After 2 years and a CU in this game (not so good)and EQ2 (quite good), I feel I must atleast give it a shot. I know we were lied to. I know we are being burned. I know the game will never be the same. I am just trying to deal with lossthrough acceptance...

One last thing before I go, reading this Tiggs quote made me laugh so friggin hard I almost peed myself.

"All players get to keep their politician skills as they will remain unchanged. Any of the nine iconic professions can also learn the politician skills in addition to the skills of their chosen profession as there is no skill associated with the politician profession."

Umm...Bush? No, wait...Perot? Crap that's not it. Perhaps Kerry? Arnold? Sonny Bono? Ah forget it...I guess you are REALLY right about that, Tiggs...lol

Nuff Said.

I just want to point out that I sympathize with all of the affected classes, not just my own. I lost two in this mess, CH and Pistoleer. The point of this post was not to outright support SOE, I am still mad at them. I just wanted to point some stuff out...that's all.

I see a refrence for Bio Engineer to become a crafter. Not a bio engineer. I see no mention of where any CH abilities are being placed.

Enough with the false hopes of a doomed profession

If they wanted to keep ch in any form they would have told our correspondant, The only thing left of ch after theyre pillaging will be lvl 10 mounts for tradesman, it as clear as the pimple on julio's a$$, wake up and smell the coffee.

I know im taking my fruustration out here right now but you need to stop reading things that aren't there. the reality is we are being ecterminated and a lvl 10 mount saleman is not a ch and never will be.

Please stop this imaginary grasping of hope. It's more constructive right now to hit your cancel button and rage against the machine.

How do you view the CH necklace effecting the CH part of the trader/Medic/.... what ever profession it gets devided up with, my other question is why are they allowing us to keep our higher level pets in the data pad if they are deleteing the profession of CH. I think that they might eventually bring it back as a viable profession. though if I'm thinking the right way in the terms of KOTOR then well I might be way off. But that's might little thought.

There is no ch necklace number one, and if one did or has popped up what do they care we have useless loot from day one still floating around

History at swg land has proven they are lazy and don't care about leftover items from a previous publish.

i still have cl 150 pets in my datapad, ah you think the'res hope for them.

or how about the petrified egg they never did anything with, lol they do this constantly. they dont care about useless junk. consider the pets in your datapad useless junk to them when they publish this abortion.

if you read Tiggs post a little more carefully, she talks about incorporating a few elements of BIO ENGINEER. she says nothing about elements of ch, except that we will still have cl10 pets and under. this means we will still have mounts, i seriously doubt they will have any attack function at all.

as for the comment that she really hasnt said there wont be some elements of ch incorporated, she actually has. several posts have asked that very question, and she keeps reposting the part of the faq that says ch will no longer be part of the game.
