Hi all, I am an ol'timer creature handler from the ol days. After the nerfs to the profession I honestly droped it cuase of all the problems as well as the lack of ablity for pets to be actuly good in pvp. Lately after studying some of the materials, checking out bio-e an other professions. As well as the new combat rebalance whispered information even speculations that I been keeping tags on. But from the looks of it, I think creature handlers are goning to get a well deserved boon very soon by the looks of the changes in combat reblance an ham system.
What broke, or nerfed CH, an other professions in general.
1) Armor
In the early days, armor wasnt much everyone was learning the system of crafting an armor did little to protect but enough it did. As the reasorces become better, an the crafting ablities of the players grew. The dev's probly didn't count on the generic system to be exceeded or they possibly knew.. Whom knows... But as it stands right now...
Armor has become litterly to powerful for even the best creatures to do real damage to a player, let alone some substandard (in pvp terms) classes to even put a dent into anyone health bars. As mainly the damage a creature did, was so little that the regen of the player allowed them to litterly scoff at the damage.
2) Defence stacking templates
This was introduced in publish 6 along with the melee an range adjustments. Unfornatly the information was kept very secrete by the testers piror an after it hit TC then live. People smart enough to mix certain skills with others begun to realize the ablity of having such skills an enjoyed the benifits. Over time the devs nerfed this to ebb the massive imbalance of the combat system, which it did work in some form or fation but stull did not solve the problem. Defence stacking pretty much lead to a greater decline in using pets in pvp, or even droids as they were not worth the effort to use.
As above with armor, in Combat Rebalance defence stacking will be the thing of the past along with armor haveing certifications as its rumored.
3) glitches, with pathing, an auto storing
Still these glitches presist in the game cuasing more greif, or worst yet deaths in pvp (if people still use pets) or in pve. Aleast most of these problems have been fixed but certain area's an planets in the game has this problem more so then others.
Thier could be other factors, other reasons to that at this point in time does affect creature handler. But honestly I rather not go though every single detail, an point out the flaws with the changes to the over all class that the dev's hit us with. But, I started to revaluate the information an data I recivied an begun to ask myself. Did the dev's purposly nerf ch, in order to balance it out for this combat reblance ahead of time? If so, how long has this new ham system an reblance been under wraps an worked on before it become our knowledge. A bit of information I obtained pretty much says they been working on this for the last 10months or even before live.. *shurgs* who knows..
If what is true from what I heard that will be going into combat rebalance as well as the new ham system changes. An as well as the removal of defence stacking an armor adjustements to were thier is no longer super armors in the game. What will happen to the creature handlers? I mean think about it....
Anyhow I am regrinding Master Creature Handler for one I miss my lovible pets.. An I have high hopes for the combat reblance 3 key features that make creatures useless in pvp will be fixed (hopefuly) then again we shall see rancor's an kimo's FEARED upon the battle fields as the enmey scrambles to flee from the caranage! =)
