Dire cats are aggressive. You will need Taming II or BE clothes with the +Tame Vicious modifier to be able to tame any aggressive creature.
(I recommend the BE clothes if you can afford them. Even as a master they help a lot. Just remember that anything beyond +25 will not help.)

Hello all,
As of right now, I am 0011 Creature Handler. From the mod skill list, it say that my max pet level is 16; However, last night when I tried to tame a baby dire cat (level 14 I believe,)error message say "You can't tame that"keep on appearing as I try to tame the cat. Also, the tame button didn't appear on the radial menu either. Did something change? Or I am still too much of a novice to tame a dire cat?
BTW, I had great fun hunting w/ my baby wrix (Lil'D) he's 6/12 now, very cool pet. Might take him to tusken fort w/ me tonight, love to tank for my pet and hear him roar when he about to enter the action
