Hi all. I'm not a CH, but have an affinity for the little critters nonetheless. Now I've got a pet I can't use...

As I understand it, if you have a pet that is beyond your ability to control you can go to a NPC CH trainer and trade it in for a lower-level pet. I read that the new pet will retain all the commands of the old one. My question is this: Is the new pet of the same species as the old one was? I'd hate to trade in my nifty fast mount only to get a slow-as-mud replacement for it

The system will try to find the closest thing CL 10 and belowto the pet you're turning in. For example, a cowardly gurreck or a wrix will be converted into a CL 10 lesser sludge panther. A CL 11 cu pa gets converted into a kwi. I think I've read that a CL 14 bantha gets turned into a lesser plains bol, so the mount capability is retained.

I made novice CH and had a little extra XP left from my first time around the block. I have some pets I want to trade in to get a lower level pet from the CH trainer in coronet but it does not give me the option to trade in the pet when talking to the trainer. Am I missing something?
