The old man hath cometh and I am conserding trying Jedi. I am considering making my second slot a CH again. I have been a MCH since before the great nert. MY question is how hard is it to climb up the CH ladder now?

The lower levels were the hardest part for me. If you have an elite combat profession, it's not too bad. Once I could use a Cowardly Gurreck and take down a Rancor I was getting 400-1500 xps for killing everything on Dathomir. It took me about 4 months to do it, but I took a break there for 2 1/2 months. I went from 3-3-2-2 to Master in about week on Dath.

4 moths total for me, and that with me taking almost a full month off. I too used a cowardly gurreck (CL 15) and sometimes paired it with a spitting rawl (CL 24) when I could call them both out at same time. I lvled on Dantooine starting with Piket and voritor grassland trackers, thenmoved up against Kunga, Mokk, and whatever those other primitives were.. Janta I believe. I was bringing down 860-1500 XP per kill (the shaman and other exotic titles were highest in XP). I used a CL 18 BE'd choku for a little while, but never really thught too well of him in battle, although I did keep him as he looks just like my RL Dog Sparky. I did my last six skill boxes ( I was 2/3/2/4) in a 72 Hour rabid dog grind with some guildmates wjoe were grinding rifles nad fencer. After that burnout session, I sat and stared in awe as my grind was finally over, desitnation reached. Master CH. Now I stand around in starports training mounts for non CH's and lower lvl CH alike, I hunt for rares, and I spend time piloting. Oh, I also loowh0re the meatlumps outside coronet... three snakes with ranged attacks are quite effective against them.

It's not easy climbing the ladder, especailly now that two pets out isn't a doubling advantage you can use to finish off the other three branches.

Still, the basic rules are there: TTR is a valid strategy if you've got the time and you don't have a lot of combat power; using pets in high traffic areas (squll cave, Geo cave, Ft. Tusken) to get a hit and depart, fighting in groups(I teamed up with two TKM/Smuggler/Pistoleer types for enraged rancor mission on Dath and got tons of XP from just one GSP getting a hit and getting out), and of course the longest grind of all, just getting started with the yard trash with a pet you can control.

I'd recommend moving up the training and taming branches first, training for the extra pet storage, taming for getting the vicous creatures tamable and widening your selection of TTR candidates.
