Creature Handler Archive
Thread: -=[CH Template?]=-
I have decided, after much deliberation (Thats right I know big words :smileytongue
Now I was wondering, as I am at work, I cant check this, but can you become CH and Ranger?
I know this may seem a stuipid question, but I was looking at the profession skill ladders this morning and noticed you need two lesser professions so get into a greater one....e.g you need Exploration IV and Hunting IV to become Ranger.
Thankyou for your time guys, much appreciated,
Happy posting
Why will i be mainly relying on my pets for combat?
And the medic thing is cool as i have been training it a bit, its currently on 0020.

Ranger and CH do not offer any weapon specials or weapon bonuses. This means that if you pick up both Master Ranger and CH, your damage with any weapon that you pick up will be considered to be significantly lower then the damage with the same weapon used by someone tha thas a profession that compliements it. Case in point would be a Rifle in the hands of a Riflemen. Lets say that you pick up X rifle and it lists as 225 DPS. The same Rifle could be picked up by a Riflemen, but the DPS would list as say 325. This makes a huge difference in combat, especially when it comes anyone that is CL80. The extra amount of damage determines whether or not you can actually kill the beasty, since CL80s tend to have rather quick regen rates.
In order to compensate for such a lower DPS, you would need to use your pets for all combat. Without a weapon specal, the damage output from your pets will be close to the damage that you would be able to cause with your weapon.
I have rifles level 4, and nerly @ ranged support 4, so would it be worth becomin rifleman and CH?
Also, can i become master Marksman and still progress into rifleman and CH?
Cheers for your help bud btw
if u choose a ranged master combat profession beside MCH u will even have enough skillpoints for 2 additional lines in BH (as u will have the prerequisites for novice BH with those template). i m MCH/MPistoleer with BH0044 and its really working well. with the new pet system and the new agression-ability i guess even pet tanking for high damage dealers (like Rifleman) should be possible again.
I would suggest the following
MBH a all around good profession and enough of pistoleer to get a decent root. This makes it so you have great croud control with your pet and your pistoleer and you have MBH for the one on one combat. You have to forgo medic but then again you have the added health of pets.
The statement of Ranger not adding to someone's Combat Level is incorrect. Scout and Ranger abilities count as Combat Abilities since halfway through the Combat Upgrade Beta already. A Master Creature Handler/Master Ranger would be counted as a Level 80 character, just as any double Combat Mastery would.
Thanks for that guys, a lot of help.
Sorry I aint bin on for the past 3 days, work and all, ppft.
But again, thanks for your help, much appreciated
