Thread: Best Natural Solitary Pet?

Looking over a few creature databases, most of the greatest high end pets that are still tamable are the Bull Rancor, Mantrigue Screecher, Arachne Widow, etc, the horrendously rare. Well, before the great extinction I tamed quite a few "extinct" pets, this including the Frenzied Graul (56), Bark Mite Queen Burrower (60), King Merek Harvester (50),and twoKliknik Queens (37) (cause they used to be CL 35). Now looking through the stats, the F-graul and Queen Burrower seem to be very high ranked, both with light armor and very high kinetic resists (along with others), very high attack and the like. I'm wondering if these things are better than the current "rares" we're all searching for today (save for the fact of plague strike perhaps). Opinions?

Yes I would say those rares are better. I have a FG myself and it is my prized possestion. It is I think the best combat pet and it get oohs and ahhs to boot=P

lol, s'ok... but yes, the FG is very nice. Massive and intimidating too, :-P. I like the ol' /stay macro, where it'll start growling and growling and won't stop... couple that with another two loud pets, prepare for the flames. I like to do that at Theed Starport, and let everyone get all pissy, lol.

If you guys wanna be really annoying here's what I used to do when I was MCH. Take 2 Maklocs and have them do trick 2 (the one that makes them rear up and crash back down) in succession over and over again. It makes the ground constantly shake and they make a really annoying bellowing noise to boot.

In terms of tanking ability the extincts are better. But when it comes to the specials they're on par. The AOE disease attack on the bull rancor still makes it highly desirable.

Delerious avenger merek is ar 1 with 45% kinetic resists only cl 40 oddly and it's the best currently tamable natural tanking melee typepet.

Though theRhoa kwi pack leader is cl 50, with I think atleastar 1 with kinetic at 35% or 30%and great energy resist of 65%.Best energy resist and has ok kinetic resist too, best all around tanking pet that is not to difficult to tame.People have said that they are rare but I've fought only 5 lairs and seen 2 babies, doesn't appear that rare to my characters.

Bloodseeker mite has no armor but several 100% resists, only cl 31 I believe, though no kinetic resists.

The low cl, skree warrior elite SP ? are tamable and I think have 75% energy resists.

I feel that the only rare pet that's SUPPOSED to spawn but isn't yet (no proof) is the Frenzied Graul, others are basically cra p. Yep, they do higher damage and sometimes have aoe attacks but aoe attacks firing off at randon times can kill you way more often then helpin afight, since they tend to just agro more creatures then you care toor expecting to handle at the time.

Not sure about you guys but I never have expected my pets to actually kill a enemy, are justfor use in distractingsp ? or holding the agro of the spawn, only caring if they stick around fighting until I can get around to the nextvictimis all.

Errr no, unless something happen to the TMB recently this is not true. The TMB is still the better tanking pet, it may do a ranged attack at first but it'll stick to melee. As many CHs will tell you melee combat from a pet will take it's time to actually kill something. Along with the posion the TMB deals out this thing still rocks.

As for other extincts being rubbish? Erm I would go ask your old timer CHs and to get out their pets and duel them. You'll quickly see the reason why they've not been brought back (yet). Also the FG AOE bleeds and is as deadly to you to use as it is to what it is attacking. The King Merek Harvester is far from rubbish, the AOE posion and blind attack is deadly, unless you agro something like krayts, DJMs or Nova stormtroopers, you can happily sit back and watch the king slaughter everything in sight; ok not quite the powerful but you get what I mean. The one you have to worry about is the Queen Merek harvester as it will chase what it's attacking, this is usually the last thing you want to happen. I can't speak for the mites as I never got round to looking for them.

Well...

D. Avenger Merek, cl 40, ar1 and 45% kinetic resists with 10700 HAM, effectiveness vs. kinetic 38909

Toxic merek battleord cl 45, ar1 and 40%kinetic resists with 10800 HAM, effectiveness vs. kinetic 36000

Both are vuln to energy.

So as a melee tanking pet, I think a Delerious avenger merek is slightly better.

As far as asking an old timer ch to show their extincts ... I don't have too since Ihappen to bea long time time MCH. Have two merek kings, a merek queen and a frenzied graul that I tamed myself back inAugust.

The king and queen mereks are nice and are my favorite petsbut neither have any energy resists.

Don't believe I said extincts were rubbish anyway, just most of the rares. They hit harder then most non rares, have higher cl's and can have AOE attacks. Thats about all the difference. BE'd pets can do most of those things except the aoe attacks.Never bother with BE'd pets myself though =)

MCH on Ahazi since August

MCH on TC now also.

Wasn't a Mch in beta, not sure ifthere were any, since the pets would poof at every turn, petswerekept in our inventory then, changed to the datapd a few weeks before release =)
