I'd love to have seen your response to my post regarding locking threads, but it, er, seems to be MIA. I'm sure I inspireda few choice responses for siding with Jeassa. (Not from you)

Hmm, did I say deleting anywhere? Nah, that should be left for hate, prejudice, and offensive only.

Anyway, I'd rather spend time discussing the corral/barn concept.

It was along the lines of your statement. Some threads should be locked for negativity. Deletions should occur when things are as you say nothing but pure hate. I do not like to hate but some days I am just angry. This is not entirely about me there were some posts I know I read, had some sustance to them and are now, Edited to read as blank statements. Or missing some relative points/parts. As you say the Corral thread needs the focus it is positive.

[gives big razzberry to you both cause he is now outta the loop]

sorry guys I have kind of given up because I really think that these boards are taken with a grain of salt. The incredible ideas I see here that stagnate without Developer or management feedback staggers the mind.
You have people PAYING to come up with good concepts and they get ignored.

Where did I put my Debbil's Advocate Suit?

I appreciate the devs are hard at work on a new expansion. Even if it does nothing for my planetbound CH, space exploration and combat is core to what makes Star Wars, Star Wars. The fact we can sit back and Armchair Dev everything that we think should be fixed doesn't mean the actual fix is as easy to implement as us third party observers may think. I am a minority, however. More people will be interested in space than becoming a CH and more people will join SWG due to the space expansion than the existance of CH. In a business sense, the space expansion is going to my major focus. Especially since nothing is stopping all these CH from dropping that profession and picking up something more to their lilking.

Ok, enough of that. Back into my Taming Clothes and let's hit those GPS.

Was shocked to see this resurfaced and not locked lol. I am not trying to fight the Devs at this moment. For what ever reason they just are not paying attention to anyone unless it is their turn to get juiced or nerfed. Luckily we got a comment from JustG the other day on the Corral Plan. Unforunately, I have lost forward progress on that thread. My personal life being somewhat topsy turvy at the moment and I am moving 4 toons in game to another city and still trying to get things ready for the droid invasion. Now all that being said, it is easy to see why the devs get so much hate mail inside the forums. Yes it could be suggested that Jeassa is just doing her job. I would rather suggest that she does it too well. Its like a guard dog that kills friend and foe alike.

It is rather trying times right now. To develop anything in a rational way to have it not even glanced at. For those who have noticed my sig for about the last month wants people to sign a petition for Hutt Faction. This list was some 12 pages long most recently. There is yet to be a BLUE, RED or YELLOW name to appear, With some handful disagreeing with Hutt Faction there is an overwhelming majority of support for it. It has become rather clear to me that the purposes for which I bought that game; CH and Hutt are shelved until a time TBA. How do I reach Dev attention without being toned and slamming them. Thus getting further posts deleted and staying under the eyes of Big Sister Jeassa.

It seems to me that this game has always been about players creating their own content. Player Ran Events and so these furoms have taken on that role for me. Because most people will cry if pets gt used in Battlefields or Plaer Events anyway. Which is bound to happen here in the forums at times as well. Tamers often yell at people who want to PvP again. But you know there has to be a way to balance this class so it can participate, my god smugglers have many different roles and markets. So why can't CH? And why when we fiercly ask for questions are we deleted or just ignored?

And why if Jeassa is too busy to explain is she participating in Quote pyramids in the discussion forums? I mean if shes really doing her job and is all that busy to explain something why does she have time to play? There are not relevant facts in those posts. There are many relevant facts in 99% of CH's posts. Yet they somehow get deleted. The Morality Police have jumped over deleting that which is just appalling to deleting anything that seems negative yet still is meant to get someone working in the proper direction. My feelings are that Jeassa is as Anti-CH as TH himself, likely she is married to him as well. Q3PO stated we should be able to indicate that which is negative as so the Devs can make it a positive. To this day it has not worked like that for CH. To this day there really does seem an over all lack of concern. What is my role in all of this? I am a very bitter customer trying to remain positive on the boards, yet I still get very ticked to see so many things edited from the post of my fellow CH. Oh how easy it must be to black out entire paragraphs and not leave what is relevant.

The objective truth is that the only thing that saves this game are my friends and these forums. The content and everything inside is nothing more than Art that Looks like Star Wars but has none of the feel of Star Wars. I want to get back on track with Tycaliburs Breeding Forum, The Corral Thread and the Armor Thread. In any best case scenario these could be worked out by june and Fan Fest.

Anyway enough ranting. Jeassa delete it if you gotta, but I'll keep writing. That should make a nice new signature.

I don't know; if I believe the numbers there are 250,000+ existing players of SWG. When I do that math, I see it as a pretty good business base.

Yep, the space expansion looks like fun, but space shoot-em-ups have existed since the first home computers. They typically fade out pretty fast. It may be more star-warsy, but it goes against the grain of the base game in many areas.

And 'fixes' should be just that, fixed. The degree of difficulty is irrelevant. Not being able to fix the game doesn't bode well for the likely bugs in the space expansion, does it?

I hate fixes bugs; it's really unrewarding but it needs to be done...

Don't get me wrong, fantoq

There's no doubt in my mind that CH needs to be fixed. I understand the business reasoning behind my chosen style of play being put on a backburner for to the Space Expansion, but I am sorely disappointed by it. No, my main objection is how some members of the forum are presenting their arguments. Pluto (and others) have the right idea. Let's figure out concrete suggestions to bring enjoyment back into our profession without flaming the devs, other professions, the alignment of the stars, or what have you. Maybe it's because of the job I do during the day, but I understand what it is to run up against seemingly impenetrable walls. The trick is finding a way around them until you can show people what they aren't seeing. Ranting at people only makes you look foolish and gives less weight to your arguments in the eyes of the people that might have backed you otherwise.

Yvile,

lol I hate to see these post floated near the top. I have really tried to quit shooting from the hip. Even before this post was made I had a few weeks without going off on anyone. Even the Devs. What the saddest part is, and the reason I got angry is some CH's were saying that in th future they would no longer buy SOE products and were awaiting WOW or MEO (possibly one or two others). This should be relevant feedback to the Devs. Providing that it is not some meaningless threat then it is very very relevant. SOE at some point in the future will see that Creature Handlers want to be in the Game. Beast Lords in EQ were a very workable, less bugged and a moderately uber/solo class. My friend and I did 3/4 of my Epic quest as a Chanter/BL combo. To soe extent this is what i expected of a CH. I truthfully came into this game believing that MCH/MRM would be the ultimate combo. CH should not be by itself nor should Rifleman, TKM definitely should not be.

Now some of CH really have had the luxury of seeing the "good ol' days" and miss it to some extent. We also know that this uberness brings too many people to our class. The combat revamp that is soon to come (we hope) should really allow people to test out new and different classes. I expect that many people in the not so distant future will change class out of boredom rather than uberness. Running the same mission over and over and over becomes mind numbing without real forward progress. At the same time grinding for experience can be overwhelming. I left EQ when my chanter just seemed stagnant trying to get into Uber groups only to watch my bar move less slowing than grass growing.

There has to be ways to add enjoyment to the game that do not involve combat. Like the Corral Thread, Making mounts useful type threads, and last but certainly not least making Tamables tamable for Tivo. These are all suggestions that are not 100% combat uberness suggestions. These are three causes I believe in and certainly want to see implemented. I want the combat rebalance to take place as well. Rolling back to pre-nerf status is logical if the combat rebalance is a year off. If it is merely 3-4 months away I believe I can survive that long.

Anyway this post was made in anger about deletions of other posts, editing of relevant facts. You better believe that if I were to say "I am leaving for WOW and never buying another Sony product to include electronics". That is relevant. Confusius teaches us to do an action before we speak so we are not made out to be liars. I try to adhere to that for the most part because action does speak louder than words. If I inform Sony of my intentions before I do them in an earnest attempt to show disgust then it should be relevant. Unless it is like many others believe that SOE does not care about the current customer and merely wants that $50 dollar initial sales and likely the same for an expansion.

Deleting posts feeds into the hysteria that SOE no longer cares. Of course I believe that ANY hate post should be deleted. Toned posts however should just be locked, and never deleted. For the record this is not toned it is in the final analysis my observations of the does and don'ts of moderating forums. Either the Devs want to know that many CH have went to FFXI or they do not. Why did CH's go tp FF? Because they are not mixing up the system midstream and the CH (forget their name for it) works. And I also believe that they have learned many lessons from SOE's failures in atleast 2 game systems.

I really keep in mind that SOE's gaming division is largely responisble for the 4th Quarter loss of profits last year for Sony. Some of that is bad PS2 sales at XMas time but still MMoRPG's that focus on selling expansions way before the core system of combat is even fixed must be a no-no somewhere in the Handbook of MMoRPG's.

I agree on the boredness part, I've recently started getting bored of SWG, not sure whether its the same stuff over and over again or whether its the fact that I've been everywhere (look at my POI badges, I have nearly all of them ). While I'm not planning on giving up CH anytime soon, I may be doing other games once in a while.

Something like the Corral would give me something worthwhile to do.
