Thread: Conspiracy Theory (pub19)
How in the heck did something this broken make it through testing? & don't say it, they don't test. They do a little, just not nearly enough obviously.
Even the Varactyl(sp?) is nerfed. I mean that's vet reward!! How much lamer is that!
I just hope that pets you tame (haven't tried yet) aren't bugged as well. If so, will be a while before they fix that ![]()
Bad theory
I have a few pets that survived. A Lvl1 59 , simply won't attack.
No double xp for us...hell not even single xp
sure smells likemajor bug , incompetence is much worse than planned out theory

The bug was 100% known in testing, it was reported by both players and the Correspondent. They just didn't fix it.
Same exact thing happened with a bug that makes Rifleman 'Cover' now 100% useless -- if you don't have something targeted and take damage, you target whatever damaged you ... including a Rifleman under Cover.
They have people telling them what the bugs are ... they just don't give the engineers the time & resource to actually fix them. They say 'Publish on Tuesday' and it publishes on Tuesday regardless .... the server could be on fire and the hard drives melting to slag and they'd still push the Publish on the original schedule, they just don't have a good process for it.
Crap, now you got me thinkin' about a ham and swiss cheese sandwitch on toasted rye bread ...

This might just make sense, if the pets you tame now were normal and not bugged. Unfortunately they are bugged as well.

Its not a theory of whether or not they knew about this.. its obvious they did. That leads into my theory. Many pets have dodged the previous swings of the nerf bat (though this is more of a death bat in this instance) and made it into pub 18 unscathed.
Perhaps they wanted a way to clear the slate and start everyone fresh. Maybe they thought there were too many 'uber pets', that upset the balance of the game, still out there and they wanted a way to wipe them all out. I mean, how did this publish find a way, without direct intent, to kill every players tamed pet when every previous publish didn't. Its like not this is raw meat that accidently got contaminated, this is programming. Nature had nothing to do with this. If tamed pets were eliminated, it was on purpose.
"Gee Harold, when I reset the pathing of that 'a boar wolf', somehow every single players' tamed pet was nerfed to hell and back..."
... I don't think so.
So they had intention of doing away with all of the old pets that didn't fit in with the new CU's scheme of things, albiet they also had some casualties. More like tamed pet genocide, but this is SOE after all. Now they have a clean slate and can rest assured that any new CH's additions won't be exploited by old 'uber' pets.
Notice the absence of many nice spawns, and the lack of any tamable elite other than the female narglatch... I wouldn't be surprised if more elites/rares become available now. I'm rambling at this point.
Its just a theory, and time will tell. Never-the-less, my giant peko peko and fambaa will still be performing thier usual routines in major cities everywhere, check your local listings for showtimes.

OK this one made me laugh out loud...
HAHAHAHAH....
Balance? Game design? What's that?
C
It's not a bug.
With patch 19, a problem was with CH options, then devs have desactivated the use of pets to avoid several problems.
If you use your pets, you could find maybe some ... special things ....
After the other big problems will be corrected, they will reactivate the pet systems.
