I was thinking either TKM or Master Swordsman, am I overlooking Pike and Fencer or are my original ideas good?

A lot of CHs go TK; they like getting in there and whuppin' on what their pets are whuppin'.
A friend of mine went CH and swordsman and found it to be a pretty kicktush combo.
Pike is good for its area attacks; fencer is superb at defense. Since you want to be putting out a lot of damage to make up for your pets not being able to, for the most part, swordsman makes alot of sense for a CH.

each has its advantages and disadvantages, ill try to lsit th mian ones, might hlpe oyu decide
TKM fast good damage dealer, meditate is amasing for self sufficiency, downside is low vs state defences (a tk with on stakcing is especially vuln to kd/dizzy combos) and single damage type
swordmsan, high dma dealer, multi dam types (the generic kinetic and the power hammers blast), mind targeting fiar defences
pikeman, the ultimate for control, 3 damage types (kinetic electric and energy) aoe state dealing (including kd) very godo for controlling things but aainst vuln targets the tk and swordmsan will dish iout more damage on a single target
fencer the ultimate defender vs low-id targets (end game content has had acuracy boosted to the point dfences are irrelevant(this is somehow considered balanced)) good for tanking but not a great dma dealer (2 dma types, stun and kinetic, but with all but the low dma vibro wep being ap0 fencers are lacking in the offensive arena vs anything with any armour
personally i picked tk, it means there are targets i simply cant deal with but tk gives a good compormise betwene offence and defence and also grants meditate which with powerboost forceofwill and healing has saved me many times since i reahced 4xxx

I went TKM to go with my CH.. actually, I was TKM first, and then went CH.. was a late bloomer. After running into some Kunga Rock Shapers that were 100% kinetic resist and nearly getting me and my cats killed, I decided to take up Swordsman 0/4/0/4 and drop master scout to just 4/0/4/1. Now, I have a Scythe that does major damage, and a power hammer that does blast damage, to add to my TKA badassness... and lets not forget meditate.... I only ned a doc to get buffed on those hunts on Dath (most times I dont even get buffed).

TKM is a good choice and I am prob. one of the very rare few who have switched from Master Rifleman to become a TKM. I love fighting side-by-side my pets, and the ability to not have to worry about disease, poison, and other status attacks from creatures is great. Force of Will has saved my butt many times from getting killed and the ability to meditate my HAM back very fast is a plus. I have personally enjoyed the game much more since I switched to TKM and the only way I see myself dropping it is when I complete the FS trees and walk doen the path of a Jedi. But that is a long way off for me as I am sick of the grind and have been having a blast dog fighting in space.

My choice would be swordsman, had that combo a year ago and loved it.
You have a decent reach and can stay about 12m from targets (behind pets) using specials and still hit enemies. depending on what I used I would even hit at 13m. this distance keeps the pets taking the hits while you do mega damage.
Either way both would work

As my sig says I am a master swordsman/CH and it is without a doubt very useful. The massive damage capabilities of a swordsman are perfect for off settign low damage from pets. You are still able to do area attacks and have 2 weapon damage types to choose from if need be.(power hammer=blast, other swords=kinetic)
I have many times proven the abilities of the profession mix by taking on 5-6 rancors at a time with just my gurrcat and gurreck with me. (of course they are both BE pets, although I made them myself, and I was buffed, but hey they were rancors) Most people will of course say get a TK template but then again all the evidence says that TK is being nerfed with the CU, so beware.

*Timidly poking my head in the room* Rifleman is what I picked to go with CH. I can stand 60m from the lair, take out the individual adults then tap the lair with a single shot and the new spawns tend to aggro less since I am so far away. If I see a baby I can walk up and attempt my tame, walk back to 60m and tap again. I found when I was really close the critters aggroed me too much, esp the babies.

Sorry, still havent figured out how to edit my posts... One more thing with Take Cover I get aggroed almost never, it makes it a lot easier to clear a lair while finding a baby.
