Creature Handler Archive

I was looking through the starwars.com database entry about Kashyykk and found some info about some of the creatures of the planet and I thought some of you creature handlers would like to ponder on them, seeing as I'm not a CH. Enjoy!

Though the Wookiees are the dominant lifeform on the planet, they share their world with countless lesser specimens. The foggy skies of Kashyyyk are pierced by the high-pitched cries and colorful swirls of plumage of the avian kroyies. Prowling the mighty boles are such predators as the horned katarn, and the five-limbed kkekkrrg rro. Lurking in the shadows are such creepy terrors as the arachnid webweaver and netcaster, the incendiary flame beetle, and the loathsome gorryl slug. Of course, there are some helpful animals too -- a wiry breed of bantha and the multi-legged sureggi can provide sure-footed transportation in the treacherous undergrowth.

I didn't know there were banthas on Kashyykk, proves how versital the are.

If they go with the books on creature creation, then you'll have to look out for man eating flowers.

I wonder what kind of meat you'd get from it, or if you'd get flora instead?

I'm gonna have to re-read the Han Solo trilogy again. There is a creature that Chewie hunts as do all the Wookiees for a right of passage or an engagement present... forget which it is.

I don't remember the name of the critter, but it's like a porcupine that can throw it's quills

The porcupine is the engagment present, and I think the right of passage is the man eating plant, they have to get a leaf and make it into a belt.

for those of you who have played KOTOR, there are quite a few bunch of critters in that game that seem interesting. Im also curious just to see what new kind of creations our devs may come up with, and least we forget what creatures may be in ROTS

Except for the wampas, there isn't much on hoth. There's tauntauns, and some giant slugs, but that's about it.
