Once the cert system sets in, GSPs will be unavaliable to novices until they've got Taming II and Training I

Having said that, GSPs are overpowered for small to mid mobs. They are superb as damaged sponges against more powerful mobs. In my experience, they're best used as a component of a hunting party, where the gsp wades in and engages the prey, while the PCs hold back and lay on ranged fire, or brawlers move i and inflict damage on the prey while the GSP remains the focus ofthe prey's counterattack. Over the weekend, I was collecting 1780 CH XP on Tusken King kills with my GSP, who was working in concert with a ronto and about 7 PCs laying heavy fire on the Tusken King.

You have to match the GSP against yellow to red cons (on the group, mind you) to get the most CH XP out of them in combat. I often hunt with a small group, and my CHP is the darling of them, as they can sit back at ranged distances, get their weapon and combat XP while the GSP engages the mob up close and personal, taking hits that would send puny humanoids to a cloning facility.

Does this mean that a CH 2/1/0/0 will be able to bring these guys out?

Keep in mind that the GSP may be a different entity after they balance the entire creature line. That is the other part of the overall plan that will establish how effective specific creatures. I haven't heard if existing GSP and others will be affected by the balancing.

After the changes 1-1-0-0 will only let you call one level 16 pet. I think Wasteland Cupa, Dessert Eopie, Mountain Murra or you could stick to Mountain Krevol, Dalyrake Harvester or a Rock Beetle.
