Hiya.

Help me if I'm wrong here... I'm confused on how to level up.

I decided to pick up CH when I was around CL40. At Novice CH, I can only tame and call a CL12 pet, right? I have to fight things around CL40 to get exp, I can't fight something level 12 because that's 2exp.

But my CL12 pet does 4 damage per hit to a CL40 creature, so I get 100 CH exp per kill or something, and that's with double exp this week.... is there any way to gain solo CH exp? I mean, even one skill block is 175,000 exp and there is NO way to do that 100exp at a time.

Do I have to find a group that's nice enough to let me be dead weight while I send in my CL12 pet hoping it gets one hit in before the fight ends or before AE damage kills it?

I don't get it... any advice would be appreciated.

Aside from combat: Go tame babies, train them all the commands that you can, then release them. You get xp from the tame and the training.

I too had this problem, I started the profession late in my lvl. In order for me to gain xp I was group with a higher level character and we did missions from the terminals. I would send in my pet to attack and the other person was holding the argo. (cheers for the root shot) I dont do alot of damage because I am a pistoleer and he was a carbineer. i would suggest to up your trap skills to where you get the pop-tart. Even thow it is fixed and not bugged it does still slow the creature down enough to keep the argo away from the pet and once the creatures are gone just have your pet attack the lair.

I am getting around 8-9K Xp for having my pet kill the lair.

Rangers lead the way.

A Ranger is a more elite soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air. I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move further, faster and fight harder than any other soldier.

With 2x xp right now, it adds up quite quickly.
