Creature Handler Archive

After an extendedleaveof absencemasteringholo professions, I'm back to my chosen prof. I dropped ranger for pistoleer. Then from pistoleer to BE. I kept BE for a bbit. Read another holo and it said weaponsmith. I told the little box to go fick itself. So, i made a bunch of pets and additives and tissues. I have about 10 schematics with the required components waiting to be used. I dropped all BE and did my camping xp and trapping in a few hours. I picked up novice ranger not one minute after i remastered scout. Now I'm 2-0-0-2 thanks to endor's wonderful high level creatures. I couldn't believe how quickly trapping xp came to me. I chose not to leave until I could, at least, get the second box of wayfarer. But by the time i had 10k of scout xp, I maxxed on my trapping xp. [sigh]. Why must there be a cap? My levelling doc buddy came to replenish my stimpacks since I was running quite low. I tell yall, I'll be master in about 3 days at this rate. I'm so eager about being ranger again. Now, is mask scent broken? All the aggro creatures aggro'd me despite my mask scent being active. It didn't break or anything. My mask stayed intact all night. I'd have to reapply when the timer ran out, but it never borke. It was frustrating running around with mask and getting agro'd by everything.

Well, there's the little matter of the frontiering line, lol, that's the toughie. And it's why I've kept it (at least for now). I'm hoping one day master ranger becomes useful and I pick it up again, but I figure by dropping trapping and wayfairing I'm keeping myself within easy striking distance of master ranger if/when I need to pick it up again.

Mask scent broken? Others have been saying this, but it works fine for me.

Okay. I did apply a camo kit on Lok (not like i'd ever need it since nothing ever spawns there on Bria) and took the shuttle to theed (still applied). On Endor, no matter what I did, mask didn't work. It was as ifmask wasn't on at all (minus the 'you're being stalked by a so and so' messages). For a good hour, I was hunting solo. When my doc buddy came and grouped with me,it was stillnot working. Maybe, since the server shutdown and rebooted, my mask will work again. So, the key is, don't mask and jump shuttles. Am I right?

There are other ways it can happen as well (any time you see the loading screen and you were still concealed seems to be the most common cause but there seem to be other flukes as well). Just do this: whenever you actually need maskscent, try turning it on and off first. If it works then you are good. If you get a message about conceal, type /conceal (with no target) and try maskscent again. I have never needed to do it more than once.
