with the wild tames borked i had some time to play with my BE choku . i was hunting night sisters rangers cl81 i was testing the agro abilty of the pet. i would have the choku attack wait for the 1st bite then i would open up with critical shot and follow with rapid fire using a slugthrower. my pet was hitting for 156dmg i was hitting for 698dmg. i kept alternating between the 2 shot and never paused till she was dead. she never broke aggro from the choku.. test 2 i critical shot 1st the night sister ranger ran towrd me i sent in my pet she still came toward me with my pet at her heals then the pet lands a couple bites she turns to attack him i open fire with critical shot and rapid fire she never turned to wave at me she stayed fixed on my pet..

i will test agian with wild pets when they are fixed and with diff MOBs.

test 2 7/1/2005

wild tame cl70 reclusive sheer mite vs cl82 night sister initiate .

had the pet attack and draw 1st blood then i opened up this time with a proton carbine againe alternated between critical shot and rapid fire trying to draw aggro. she then turned and started to run to me i stopped firing to see if the sheer mite wold draw aggro away from me ,no dice i had to kite her around to finaly kill her..

after her i tried a cl79 singing mountian clan huntress. same tactic as be for sent pet lit it nibble on her the opend up the proton carbine agai alternating the same attacks as above. again the sister turned and ran up to me.

the sheer mite was not holding aggro at all.

with 1 more huntress left i pulled out my choku (named meatshield by the way) sent him in to attack the cl79 huntress. as soon as he drew blood i opened fire same shots as above she did not come to me.i continued firing, there was2 times she steped towards me but the choku drew her back .

my conclusion is that a BE pet with a high agro bonus makes a very effective tank in PvE..

i would still like to see how this works with a master rifle MCH,

ironicly the BE Choku was made with 100%reclusive sheermite DNA.

the choku stats are:

cl70

health 6521

regen 655

armor 4690

to hit 170

def 170

state res 32%

chc 5%

csc 3%

agro 17.5% <------i beleave aggro is the key

dmg 104-404

my stats

MCH,MBH,Carbines 4.4.0.0

My second account character is a BE/CH. I test my creations all the time. A high aggro is great for PvE, but useless for PvP. If you plan on solo hunting, high aggro, good armor and regeneration will ensure your pet can keep the aggro off you.

You can do the same with wild pets if you observe how much damage your pets are doing and time your shots to complement your pets' damage. You have to turn off auto-attack to get this to work successfully.

I have a cl 58 and hunt with a laser or Tusken rifle mostly wearing no armor. My main pets havebeen a cl 67 wild angler, or 3 female narglatches.

You can often tell when amob is about to agro you by watching its actions. They will either do a half turn and turn back or run a couple steps in your direction and turn back. Simply stop shooting for a few seconds and then start shooting again.

I have successfully solo'dsingle mobsup to cl 81 in this manner, although it gets dicey at that point and you better be ready to cut and run. Also, it's much harder to fight things with ranged attacks or especially those with Specials.

I use my Ranc (only pet to survive the Second great Nerf :smileysad like this all the time, works great when you uses them to pull by poping out a quick attack/follow and let the mob run all the way to the pet to attack it before you open up. I usually have the group suround the area and as soon as the mob hits the Ranc massive crossfire, lvl82s dead in seconds, nobodys gets touched.

Pet did me good in PvP the other night...had a CL69 BE Vesp sit with me while I waited on the Bounty Hunter I knew was after me. Soon as the BH turned red, sent my Vesp to attack him, got myself a couple knockdowns on him, and the Vesp totally destroyed that darned BH. I was level 63 at the time and the BH was level 72.

But then he got his revenge and sent a level 80 BH...Me and the vesp did good for a while but didn't have the same luck with the second one..

KD shot from carbineer is nice for this very reason. Your pets will also do more damage on KD targets, just like you will. Carbineers ability to keep the enemy away from you is a huge benifit to CH.

Another fun one is squad leader volley fire. Normally Squad Leader abilities dont apply to pets. However volley fire is applied against the target, which gives you, your pets, and everyone else in your party an extra 15% damage and accuracy against that target. Whew! Talk about damage output! 15% doesnt sound like much at first but when you add up your damage, and your pets damage while a target is KD... ouch!

Another nice thing about VF is that its insta cast, which means you can apply it and fire another attack without waiting! This is is handy when you apply it just before or after a KD shot... cause every shot after that will freaking HURT!
