Thread: a pet that tanks

You can do the same with wild pets if you observe how much damage your pets are doing and time your shots to complement your pets' damage. You have to turn off auto-attack to get this to work successfully.
I have a cl 58 and hunt with a laser or Tusken rifle mostly wearing no armor. My main pets havebeen a cl 67 wild angler, or 3 female narglatches.
You can often tell when amob is about to agro you by watching its actions. They will either do a half turn and turn back or run a couple steps in your direction and turn back. Simply stop shooting for a few seconds and then start shooting again.
I have successfully solo'dsingle mobsup to cl 81 in this manner, although it gets dicey at that point and you better be ready to cut and run. Also, it's much harder to fight things with ranged attacks or especially those with Specials.
But then he got his revenge and sent a level 80 BH...Me and the vesp did good for a while but didn't have the same luck with the second one..
Sounds interesting... let us know if you find out more!

KD shot from carbineer is nice for this very reason. Your pets will also do more damage on KD targets, just like you will. Carbineers ability to keep the enemy away from you is a huge benifit to CH.
Another fun one is squad leader volley fire. Normally Squad Leader abilities dont apply to pets. However volley fire is applied against the target, which gives you, your pets, and everyone else in your party an extra 15% damage and accuracy against that target. Whew! Talk about damage output! 15% doesnt sound like much at first but when you add up your damage, and your pets damage while a target is KD... ouch!
Another nice thing about VF is that its insta cast, which means you can apply it and fire another attack without waiting! This is is handy when you apply it just before or after a KD shot... cause every shot after that will freaking HURT!
