We all know about the problems with pet specials.
We're all familiar with the disappearing pet problems.
We all have experience with pets that are paralyzed and won't listen to commands becuase they're stuck in combat mode.
Most of us have BE pets from before the combat "upgrade" that were once our fierce hunters that now are completely useless.
These issues have been with us for FAR too long.
Instead of fixing these (and other) bugs, we get a pet icon for grouping. Yeah, thats o.k. but how many people do you know that went around saying "What CH really needs is an icon for our pets while we're grouping!!!"?
Then they introduce severe game crippling bugs that bring the Creature Handler community to a halt.
99% of the community is outraged with the bug.
In 48 hours they do indeed fix the pet level bug but half the community forgets that it should NEVER HAVE MADE IT TO LIVE.
Now elite pets are broken. The surprise quick response by a developer was impressive. Everyone praises the prompt response to the newest bug.
But it seems to me that the Creature Handler fiasco over the last 72 hours is dulling our senses.
We've seen our pets made 100% useless and crippled by the CL 1(0) bug. After living with that for a couple of days, people are just relieved to have them back to "normal".
Keep in mind that this "normal" pet is still a broken pet. And its been broken for a long time.

We're not just "fixing" specials, though. We're replacing that with a specials system that has a lot of new special abilities. So you tame different creatures to learn their specials, and then teach those specials to the pets you actually want to use, depending on what combat role you want the pet to fulfill.
So we didn't want to "fix" the old specials system, since we were replacing it instead.
The new specials system is currently in development. We just want a little extra time to polish it, and that's why you don't have it (or a fix to the old system) yet.

This is what I mean. You're post proves my point.
The idea that pet special attacks are the only problem now is wrong.
But its come to the point that if they ever get fixed, 99% of Creature Handlers are going to be satisfied.
If people made the same uproar over the broken AI and disappearing pets as they did with the CL 1(0) bug, these bugs would be fixed already.
But no... we've learned to live with them and accept them as "normal".
If we continue to accept all of these minor bugs(as the majority have), they will never get fixed.

Being curious about this Troilus_of_Bria joker, I went back and sampled a few of his posts previous to this. Suffice it to say, his idea of intellectual discourse is to pop in to a thread and throw a brief one-sentence hand grenade and then dissapear. The posting equivalent of a guy offering to light his own farts for entertainment. I'm not a CH, and haven't been for a long time, but the Pokemon accusation still gets on my last nerve. NO this is not Pokemon, Troilus, nor is it day-school, nor is it the sole province of small minded and unimaginative trolls such as yourself, thank god. EVEN YOU would hate a game completely populated by shortsighted, vicious alcoholic morons. Booo Hooo? What are you, eleven?
CH gives this a game a flavor and variety that would be sorely missed if it weren't around. The same can't be said about Bounty Hunters - In what way do THEY improve the aesthetic appeal of SWG, pray tell? Mandalorian armor? (snort!) It is unsurprising in the extreme to read that an ape like you chose BH as a profession. Griefing other players for your content is right up your alley.
Friends don't let friends post drunk, but there's nothing we can do about them posting stupid.

Not to discredit you in anyway - and I understand your being upset about the situation. I have been a CH from the start.. I may be one of a handful of the original CH's .... No I'm not saying I am the only one.. I'm not however one of the "I love to have a high post count" type people.. I post when I feel I can generally add to things..
Your comment that if people made the same uproar over the broken blah blah blah..... CH's have been in an uproar since NERF number one... DEV's don't listen.... CH's got in an uproar over NERF number two - let us just say rinse and repeat - I've lost track... CH's do get in an uproar over the issues.. However CH's have been beaten up so much all because from NERF one someone cried... Boo Hoo CH's are way to overpowered... I did not post what I had posted as a celebration.. I posted it as to something I saw which was in reference to what you had said... Simply that..
So CH's really don't accept the bugs... The older CH's have learned to take a step at a time and fight battles when we can - cause we have learned the DEV's don't listen to the CH's... And basicly from my standpoint feel sorry for the correspondents who get beat up over these issues..

"The older CH's have learned to take a step at a time and fight battles when we can"
I'm sure the developers know this. There's no reason to fix a bug here or there if people aren't complaining about it. They'll just get around to it when they aren't working on something "more important". (From what I've read, the disappearing pet problem for example has been around from about the beginning.)
But I don't have the patience to wait around for a year for a bug fix that should've been fixed in a matter of weeks (or even days in some cases).
I cancelled my account because of this publish.
I guarantee you that if the entire CH profession followed suit, there would be a little more action taken by the developers.
I'll say again, to accept the creature handler profession as it currently is, is to accept failure.
And I for one refuse to reward repeated failure with my money.

I won't cancel my account because even with all the problems, bugs, undocumented software features, etc., I still have a lot of fun playing this game
