Trying to pick up a few more L2 abilities along with CH xp for my last box before Master, and the only babies I come across on Lok are snakes. I seem to fail much more often with them than other creature types (5-7 attempts vs. 2-4 for equivalent CL, and yes I know that's a drop in the bucket compared to what I have to look forward to with the higher-level stuff), they seem to always aggro whenever a tame attempt fails, and they even seem to aggro me if I'm just passing by (I'm CL 74, they're in the high 40s). Are these things just temperamental, or do I have really bad luck?

Sorry, just had to vent. Snakes. I hate snakes.

Think you'll find that problem with any stalker tagged creature. They may not agro you due to higher level initially, but their stalking AI kicks in regardless of your level and they come to you, if you don't move and stay where you are they move right into their small agro radius and boom, they jump you.

Someone changed the general agro radius but forgot to change the stalking code. If you have novice ranger, as soon as you see that stalking message, just move a few feet from where you were, they won't agro

Use maskscent while taming and it will reduce the aggro from the stalkers.

Huh, I forgot about the "stalker" stat. Although swgcreatures isn't showing that stat for the spined snakes giving me so much trouble. Are they stalkers now?

I do. And the snakes seem to break it every time.

It's worse than that - often they don't even bother breaking it and attack anyway.....

So far Maskscent usually keeps aggro off me, but like you have seen, I still get attacked occassionally. Make sure you do not stand directly on top of any of the surrounding creatures as they get uppity when you invade their personal space. I try to stay 3-5 meters from the baby or any surrounding mobs.

Tame from bikes useing the radial that way if they aggro you get away fast and come back. Make sure to use almonds sometimes a bad attempt at tameing can trigger a attack. Be prepared pay attention to the text your character is trying to figure out the right combination to tame said pet. Don't bite me tells you the creature is liable to attack so be prepared.

If you beleive in prompt buffing like I do repeating my avatars tame prompts use them it seems to make tameing easier take less time.
