Hello all! OK, Im pretty new to SWG, been at it for around a month total. But, Ive been working smuggler, trying to make some money. Im poor But anyway, just wondering how the CH class is at making money? The only reason I ask this is because I REALLY want to be a CH, but I figure I can make some good cash at smuggler. The only reason Im wanting to make money though is to get better armor, weapons, etc etc as I progress. And I have a medium house on Naboo, and I want to make sure I dont lose it. So, anyway, there is my newb question. Looking forward to seeing some of you around and as a CH myself someday!

CH alone will make you 0 credits, add in a combat profession and that can make you money.

unfortunately, CH will not get you much money. not much you can depend on anyway. unless you are willing to spend days and weeks and months trying to get rare pets, those will sell good (such as bull rancor, GPS, screecher, widow, etc.) most people only mount for 10k and train pets for 5k (i do both for 5k). and your average pets wont sell for more than 50k, if you're lucky. CH is what you make of it, i will never give it up, its too much fun and rewarding despite our setbacks. so look at the profession as a whole, and what you see yourself doing. hope that helps

LOL. CH is the Maytag repairman of SWG. We have ZERO job. The money maker is what ever profession you choose besides CH.

BUT BUT BUT.

BE pets with Dizzy plus the Smugglers KD would rule.

PLUS PLUS PLUS.

Being grouped with pets can get higher missions PLUS smugglers can slice for better pay. This would be one great template from the money perspective doing missions alone. 24K Kunga missions on Dant just as a CH/Marksman.

Imagine what you might be able to turn that into with a slice. 20 missions just at that price is 500K.

In a nutshell what you can tame in the wild is relatively weak in comparison as to what your Friendly Neighborhood Bio-Engineer could make. This pet should have a special attack called Dizzy. This dizzy when used in conjunction with the Smuggler special that causes Knockdowns pretty much keeps you or your pets from takign damage from that mob.

You can make decent credits slicing weapons and armor, but I'm not sure if there's enough points to have master smuggler and MCH...hmmm...that might be fun...selling pets isn't gonna get you much, and most players won't pay you to train their pets, but being able to get high level missions without a solo group is nice...just checked the character builder, master smuggler/MCH leaves you 23 points, I'd plop those into medic so you can use stim b's to heal yourself and your pet...slicing for customers, slicing terminals and doing missions should net you a pretty decent income...

Ignore the haters You can make descent money from two sources 1) Taming CL10 mounts and selling them fully trained (once you can train mounts) 2) Harvesting for BEs, Docs, Chefs, armorsmiths etc.

Now none of these will make you Architech money, but both can be a very good income source for a CH. Especially the harvesting. Just get to know some crafters and have them let you know what resource is the best that week and harvest the heck out of it. Good meats/hides can go for more than 10 credits per unit without even trying, and on really good resource shifts you can find people paying 50 credits per resource or more. I just finished a nice endorian wooly hide shift on my server that in total made me a couple million credits (and a mantigrue screecher baby )

True, I make good money whenever Rancor hides/meats/bones come up high quality, as well as avian meats and eggs from nests, all the stuff you run across while XP whoring.

Yep you can have Master Smuggler and MCH. However, you are left with about 20 skill points left. So you really dont have much options after you master the two proffesions. Personally I invested my remaining points in the TKA meditate line so I could heal my own wounds. However, Pistol marksmanship in the pistoleer line might be the better option as you could use your pistols well your pet tanks for you.

As far as making money is concerned you might want to join a faction and get your rank up to Colonel. Selling faction points is very lucritive

I've been playing SWG for just over a month now and tbh i'm getting bored with it, so i decided to make a rifleman/CH. My main chars in UO are tamers, so i'm hoping that being a CH will be just as much fun
